Can someone please explain to me how motor performance is measured?
Please excuse my ignorance but I'm trying to understand this. I know in an electric motor there are turns or winds in which they are rated...
However I don't understand exactly what these ratings mean for performance, for example is the lower the turns the more power the motor has? As in a 12 turn motor will be a lot faster than a 19 turn motor?
I've seen people say things such as 8x1, what does this mean? Thanks

You are right in the winds. An 8 turn is faster than a 19 t which is faster than a 27t stock. Anything less than 27t is considered Modified.
An 8x2 has 8 wraps around each post on the armature using 2 seperate strands of wire for a total of 16 wraps.

i thought everything below 19 was mod?

Depends on how you look at it.
27t is Stock. Anything less would be "not Stock"
19t comes with either locked endbell OR advancable timing.

i think a 27t with fixed timing is a stock....19t with fixed timing is a superstock/spec...anything else is a modified
