Could you link to the Part numbers of the tires/wheels you've used?

Well for close to scale look the Proline Road Rage tires I'm using are pretty decent for off road traction. I've used them in sandy pavement lots and on hard packed dirt and they grip quite well. They are also nice and soft like the stock off road tires so they do a good job getting down to the ground and giving you some traction.

Haha, I feel you there! Well I upgraded my shocks recently. I'm using a set off the Traxxas Slayer Pro with the 1.1 rate springs front and rear. They fit on reasonably well with 2mm spacers top and bottom. So far I haven't actually driven with sticky tires on pavement but I'm hoping the stiffer suspension helps out a bit. I also got some 60wt oil to put in the shocks but I I've yet to put it in. The Slayer shocks seem to have good oil in them out of the box.

I think it really comes down to the COG. If you set the droop and stiffen up the springs it might not be as much of an issue.

Me?... The black rims I'm using are the HPI107972 tarmac rally rims for the WR8. The tires I have mounted on there are the Proline Road Rage 110200. These are not belted tires so keep that in mind. I wrapped the inside with some strapping tape so they didn't balloon out like crazy.

They Grey rims I'm using are HPI3038 and they were originally on the HPI Super Nitro Rally. They are discontinued and I haven't been able to find another set online (I'll keep looking though). The tires I have on them are TAM50839. They are from the Tamiya TGX Rally car. They are also discontinued but I recently found a set at Stormerhobbies and I ordered them up. They are now sitting in my basement waiting for me to find a nice set of rims for them.

The white wheels are HPI107881. They are from the HPI WR8 Nitro model. The tires I have on them are also from the Nitro WR8 and are part number HPI107870. These tires are pretty good for off road use. The sidewalls roll and if you drive them hard on pavement you will scuff up the rims in no time.

Hope that helps!
Mike

I've got a big oil variations stocked up. would you suggest to replace the grease with oil? what weights? thought about going 553. what do you guys say?

in another matter. most of my bashing is on a pavment. what are your suggestions for tracking improvment? COG\Tires combination\Lower Body mounts

Looks like grease f/r, diff oil in the center. I haven't gotten deep enough into mine to start messing with the diffs yet though so I'm no help with setup modifications.

Has anyone messed with their sway bars? I was inspecting mine this weekend and noticed that they are REALLY loose where they wrap around the diff cases. I can slide the bars left and right about 1/8". I don't know if they've always been like that, but the sway bars on my other RCs are always pretty tight against the diff case.

I just refreshed my diffs along with a bunch of other drivetrain parts. I went with 10k front and rear and 1000000 center. As for the difference? I really can't tell. When ever I run it with grip tires it traction rolls quite often. It does seem to pull out of the corners better but I run harder compound tires more often and enjoy drifting it around.

I am a bit surprised by how this thread is being so small while the car are sold out all over the internet. This car is amazing!

Have any of you guys given the Integy HD center drive shafts a shot? They are listed here:http://www.integy.co...801&p_catid=368

The pricing is pretty good but I'm wondering how they hold up.

For what it's worth I hardened my stock diff cups (all of them) and now the pins on the drive shafts are wearing out. I'm tempted to buy the Integy ones if they are worth a damn.

That's a great question. I've been bugging them on their facebook page. Every time they post something I'll ask them to make more hop ups for the WR8.

My latest has been shock towers with more mounting points. It can't be that hard to produce. I'd like something that will allow to mount the shock a bit more straight up along with making it possible to lower the car down a bit.

HPI has just released the new 2013 GRC Ken Block Livery...

Just in time for Mr. Block to update to the 2014 GRC livery... I wish HPI would keep on top of the WR8 and the GRC livery schedule. It's nice they released the 2013 version but in a few weeks everyone will be wanting the 2014 Block version.
