I wish Tamiya had designed the XV-01 to use the same mounts as the TB03/TA05. I have a nice variety of those in my tool box.

I did a comparison, the mount holes for chassis are the same, but the XV-01's are much narrower.
As far as I know, you can make them work!

Thanks for the tip on the wheel size, and I have been checking out the Rally thread as well. That's how I found this thread

I'm a little torn on the look, but I think I'm going for the Rallycross look, rather than traditional rally. So, I'd like to bring the wheels closer to the body for that look. I think if I go for 0mm offset they'll be more sunk in the wheel wells a little like yours, no?

And yes, that was me looking for decals, but once again thinking more Rallycross. Then again, I'll probably end up with more than one body and more than one set of wheels.

No doubt about that! As soon as you get your first tamiya rally body shell, you'll fall in love with it and start collecting them all!

I started with the Celica back in 93, now I got the Lancia and all the Subarus except for the '97 which is a true rarity.

Yep! My first was the Evo 6 on the TB01 kit, then the Evo 5 on the DF03 kit, then bought the XV01 with the WRX, which is my basher shell, but the Evo7 is my shelf queen shell. Can you tell I love the Evo's? Had to hunt hard for the Evo7, but now I see they've re-released it on a TT01. Hoping they bring out another Evo 6. The HPI one isn't quite the same.

BTW - I do have a brand new HPI Evo 6 in 190mm for sale if anyone wants one.

A little hard to tell in the pics, but there's not a lot of clearance on my Evo. You'd be better starting with 0 offset and spacing it out 1mm or so with spacers on the wheel hubs. I'm certain 3mm offsets will be too wide for you.

My absolute favourite is the Lancia Delta. I do wish Tamiya would release a Stratos as well.

I also like the Celicas. I owned a 93 Celica GT4 / Alltrac. I moved too slow and the Tamiya Celicas were sold discontinued. Only the 1990 remains.

Right now my runner body is actually an E30 M3 lol. It's an old body I had lying around.. I figured I'd make good use of it.

I have nothing against any car, honestly, I love anything with an engine. But I drive a 1:1 Evo X, and I'm head-over-heels in love with my car. So, naturally, I think an Evo X shell should be my first one. I actually really want an "older" shell of sorts, something from the 80s or 90s, as I love the boxy race cars

I'll take your advice on the wheels, worst case I'll have a set for another chassis

Can anyone confirm if the Fiat 131 Abarth body from Rally Legends RC will fit the XV-01?

Yes it will! Their chassis is based on the TB03

My Pro kit is on the way. I have an idea for the body, I'm hoping it pans out. Really excited about this!
