Default Vht Traction And Foam Tires Help?

does anyone have any experience running foams tires on a asphault track sprayed with VHT???

like what tire traction works best? have you found side bite an issue? anything you might be able to add will help. remember not rubber tires foam tires.

Tyre choice can depend on the amount of VHT on the track, best bet is something like 42fronts and 42rears (thats what Surikarn used when he raced at a VHTed track in Aus) in Ellegi, Ufra, Jaco Nitro Shoes etc.

As for side bite, there is heaps, and its important to set your car up so it doesn't traction roll. Not sure about traction compound, never used it.

Try posting it in the nitro forum, they might be able to help some more.

Hey Josh, I don't ANYBODY at the Summernats would have been stupid enough to run traction compound there..... the whole track was a traction compound. Personally.... I think that VHT is a bit ridiculous but hey.... if we HAVE to race on it then I will.... just I think there are better forms of racing then it. Its so weird not having understeer or oversteer..... just worrying about traction rolling. That was all I was concerned about that weekend because the car handled perfectly everywhere, like every other car. Did look pretty funny seeing Stock cars on two wheels around some corners though.

I know some people tried traction compound, all it does is make the tyres hook up instantly instead of waiting for them to warm up, you dont get more grip, just grip from the beginning, same type of thing as tyre warmers and additives for rubbers.

I didn't really think that foams were temperature sensitive. I don't really know anything about foams really.... I just got Besercoe to fix me up with some foams, trued them once and cut the rim and that was about it. Got me moving though.
