Default Benelux 1:12 racing idea's

If it's not held during the Pro 10 outdoor season, I'm in, and probably two or three other racers from Velp as well.
Pro 10 is still my number one class (just the most fun), but I raced 1/12th at viol last winter, and had a lot of fun there.
I have a Asso L4, so 4cells is all I can run.
I heard the new track layout in Ede should suit 1/12th cars, so how about a race there?
Why not have one race at Viol (Germany), one at Megadrom (Germany), one in Ede (Netherlands), one in Dordecht/PK (Netherlands), and one or two, depending on where there would be a track, in Belgium?
Just make sure there's no high entry fee, and no membership required.

Ah, they guys from Velp
Sure, 1/12 scale in summer is pretty useless
I guess, from september to april should suit very well.

Default Benelux 1:12 champ'ship

Hi!

Six races (Holland 2, Germany 2 and Belgium 2) sounds good but maximum ... for instance, in case of Belgium, can't think direct of two large race tracks suitable for 1:12th (except MRCZ-Zwevegem of course ) ... for Holland, is Dordrecht/PK still a 'decent=competitive' 1:12th track?? A tunnel/bridge in a circuit ....rises questions with me??? The circuits in Germany I don't know..yet

We should get contacts of those clubs and get informed whether it's possible to organize. Maybe Markus can cover Germany ??, Marc Breve Holland??, I can hear with daddy what MRCZ thinks about'it and search for other good locations/clubs Belgium (Antwerp maybe).

Certainly not in the summer, from October on or something like that till end March/April, ... (for now, still details )

Greetz,
Benny

ps: Markus, pm is coming your way

Hm guys, I do think 6 races is too much.

You would have the problem, that some tracks
will have enormous entrees and some don't, which
will not cover the expenses for the clubs.

Hm, Dordrecht, better not.... I think for NL, Ede and
Swifterband would be cool.
I will ask Tony, Frans and Jilles, maybe they got
another idea and can advise us here.

Sure, Benedict, I can cover the german part, no problem....
Viol and Megadrom are most suitable for this, maybe
Dortmund as well....

First of all, we have to fix that rules and find a suitable
name for that series.

I agree with Markus that Dordrecht might not be that suitable. I've raced there thousands of laps, but when they made the bridge/tunnel part 1:12 died instantly.

I don't know anything about Ede but we have plenty of time to figure that out.
Swifterbant/MCRL is still a bit unknown as they have to leave their current building soon. But they were looking for a new location wich would be a super track if this will go ahead.

Megadrome and Viol have a very good reputation here in Holland and many drivers make that long trip for some fun racing. So if they could participate, it would draw some extra drivers I think. And I haven't been there (I know, I'm ashamed) yet...

Benedict: How many racers could the Zwevegem track host?

This brings us to 4 or 5 races which should be the maximum I think. With 6 races you get a pretty cramped season and many 'old' 1:12 drivers have more to do that playing with toy cars

MRCZ (large track) can take to 60 racers, (small track : 25-30 max, but that's out of the question). The problem with the large track is that the current location 'Feesthal Zwevegem' only can take place the last weekend of March and November. If these data aren't suitable, MRCZ can look for another location.

Anyway, I believe MRCZ will join in the organization of an BENELUX 1/12th champ'ship.
I'm willing to take that part on my behalf.

look at : http://home2.scarlet.be/avantomm/mrcz.htm
(pics tracks)

ps: mark, pm !

"almost" a perfectly flat carpet!
Although the years already have affected the 'flatness' of the carpet a bit. Since mankind : tape UNDER the carpet, no
spaces between...
Trust me, track carpet and lay-out belong to high 'international' 1/12th standard ...

(traditionally we always try to work with a "half or 3/4 moon" in our circuit.... as base for our 'traditional' lay-out, we mostly use
- you should remember Markus - that exeptional lay-out (moon) of Laigneville 1994 (worlds 1/12th) - I'll post next week an photo (example) of such a traditional lay-out.

If we can get this type of celebreties to race, this idea will certainly work!

On another note: Markus, will you come to the Bad Breizig Pro 10 race this weekend? We need someone to show us how it's done!

Great!
Have you got any photos of the indoor track at Ede? Or has the club a website?

Hey Oscar, I'll make sure you'll keep that promise.

The Feesthal looks really good. It's a long drive to Zwevegem but with this track I'm sure it's worth it.
