ROAR 2013 Carpet On-Road Nationals
#826
It IMO is a fun event to go to. The person who wins gets a trophy as an award. As well as a chance to qualify for Worlds (modified classes mainly). Non-sponsored guys have won the races but if your are going to travel and expect to win you better be good. Although if you have not signed up for this event you would be on a waiting list. I would love to go to the event. I would def say this is a must do if you enjoy the hobby.

Hello All,
Ok here is the deal. ROAR is going to take registration up until raceday. Here is the catch.
If you plan to sign up when you arrive the class may be closed.
They are only going to fill out the heats only. So basically if there are 28 WGT cars they will only fill the heats to make 30.
So if you really want to run a class I would get in asap or you may be shut out.
I repeat if you plan to add more classes I would do so ASAP as you may get shut out because the classes may fill up.

Today we salute you Mr. Pit Spot Assignment Guy
Mr. Pit Spot Assignment Guy!
Tolstoy had War & Peace, da Vinci had the Last Supper, and you, you’ve got Pit Tables.
It’s a long and lonely job!
Armed with a Sharpie, hundreds of feet of duct tape, and a whole lot of patience, you work your magic.
Abracadabra!
Most racers worry about being on an end spot next to their buddies, you just worry about breaking into a rage and committing battery.
Don’t ‘tase me bro!
So crack open an ice cold Bud Light, Picasso of the Pit Tables, because when it comes to art, your work is anything but abstract.
Why am I next to Dirla?!

I know at the carpet nats at Time Zone ROAR said the "Host" could run open or controlled practice as long as they wanted to after the allotted ROAR controlled practice times. It was pretty nice to have the extra track time there.
Something like they do for the bird with 3 minute runs. 3 for pan car then 3 for TC would be super sweet.

Running practice after racing is up to us from what I have been told. I think the schedule they have proposed practice will end closer to 7pm on thursday and I would probably be willing to stay around a little longer for open practice afterwards but I wouldnt think it would be more than an hour or so.
No guarantees though. We'll have to see how everything plays out.
