Hello, if the price is right, i am interested.
I have a TA05 R V1, i like very much.
So i would like to get my hands on a MS.
New or a good second hand is what i am looking for.
Greetings, Joop.

Just sharing.
I am really passionate about these cars. So I built both V1 and V2 for my collection. Took me almost a year to complete because parts are hard to find.
I built with all genuine Tamiya hop-ups with the exception of the turnbuckles on the V1, Center pulley on the V2, and screws. V1 has all the components of the IFS-R which are the arms and pulleys.
Regards!

I am not sure how much they want for it (I think when new, here the kits were about 400$ if I remember correctly), but it might be a little bit of an exercise to get them to ship to Europe. Budget about 100$ for registered/signature airmail.
That is indeed a lot of money for the shipment.
There must be a cheaper way to get it here.

I'm planning to run my V2 in GT3 at TCS this year. Looking for 48P gearing suggestions for a 21.5. If anyone can get me in the ballpark that would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Guys,
Quick question, how much steering angle your getting out of TA05?

Ta05 revival!
Hi everyone, I just won a bid for a built bone stock never before ran Ta05 v1.
I am looking to experiment with this chassis in all different ways. I see from previous posts that this is quite a capable chassis. I hope to post my updates to continue this thread along.
I bought myself the carbon steering rack. And will eventually be putting some threaded dampers on this car. This chassis, for now, will be running a silver can and a decent servo when I find it. I hope to create a killer driveway and street machine which can be moved to the track if needed.
By the looks of some earlier posts the steering rack, shims, CVDs and upgraded dampers are the basic things needed to make this car a performer. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks!

I would also look immediately into getting some gear diffs going and a front one-way (this one is going to be difficult to find). The rear gear diff is easy, just use the Tamiya casings (can't remember what model fits). If you have to resort to a diff pulley with a different tooth count (like the TRF419 or the TA06) you'll have to get some different length belts. Which is not a problem, Xray have all the belts you may need in one tooth increments. You might also like to change the internal ratio and go to 18 tooth centre pulleys to keep pinion size down.
I have a fully upgraded TA05R and I found that some of the alloy/carbon parts are actually heavier, so when I was running the car in stock I went back and replaced all the heavy parts with kit parts to minimise weight, as the car is by default on the piggy side.
I did keep the alloy bulkheads and suspension blocks, and a few other bits and pieces just because plastics are annoying in some places where you work frequently and also want some precision and repeatability for your setup.
Otherwise, a much more durable car than the TRF equivalents and rather competitive for what it is.
