To all the Perth guys, where do you buy your Tamiya parts from? Online or hobby shops?

at Tower for $65.

It's been a long time since I raced, but I just got back into the hobby and in my opinion, the best way to improve you driving is to make sure you have consistent setups.
unfortunately I can't see your pic, can you throw a link up?

95% online, the local stores here don't have much stock especially for the TA-05, or want some really stupid prices when they do have them.

ie, Stannys wanted $85-90ish for a front one way

Very rarely do i buy parts locally, not because i dont want to but it helps when parts are in stock and they are not more than twice that from overseas..
its a case of emergencies only for me when it comes to LHS purchases

i tend to use these, probably in order of preference..

- shopping.rcmodel.hk
- www.rcmarket.com.hk

+1 for me, the usual line locally is "We can get it in for you" which takes 7-10 days by which time the overseas order is quicker and cheaper. But generally if guys locally had the parts I need, I'd buy them locally, they don't so I won't!

I use (in order)

www.harrisrc.com
www.liquidrc.com
www.vellrip.com
www.precisionrc.com
www.amainmodels.com
www.stellamodels.net
shopping.rcmodel.hk (out of date site, half the items he says are in stock aren't)
www.rcmarket.com.hk (can be a bit rude in his emails)
www.rc-mushroom.com (crazy high postage)
www.rcmart.com (terrible processing time)
www.hobbycity.com (even worse than rcmart processing times, didn't think that was possible)

The bog stock IFS runs the first type of reversable arms with those damn 950 wheel bearings (the IFS-R runs the 416 set up with 1050's)

You need:

51094 (Wheel Axle)
53500 (Cross Joints)
53836 (Swing Shaft 48mm)

for the front.

51094 (Wheel Axle)
53500 (Cross Joints)
You can use the standard 48mm swingshaft here or the lightweight Blue one, do not use the blue up front though!

53836 - front steel swing shafts, 48mm
53500 - cross joints, pins, grub screws
53499 - wheel axles for universals ** need two packs

The IFS Manual says you use the Evo 4 Wheel Axles which is the number I quoted.

Could someone who has upgraded to the carbon damper stays be kind enough to help compare the holes for front damper mount position 1,2,3,4 and rear 1,2,3,4,5 with those on the stock plastic damper stays?

thanks!

Integy set up station.
http://www.integy.com/cgi-bin/webc.c...=1886&p_catid=

At Tower it's $65.

You can measure links etc.., but that's never 100%.

I have some digital calipers that have a resolution of .001 MM.

Got my links to exactly the same length and put them on the car.

Yesterday I put both cars on the setup station and could see 1 and .5 degree differences. Is it huge? no. But when anyone is trying to improve a skill, making sure the set up the same is important.

plastic shock tower positions 1,2,3 correspond with carbon shock tower positions 1,2,3
the difference being on the carbon towers you have the additional hole 4

What parts do you need to switch the front steering blocks from the ones that use the 950 bearings to the 416 blocks that use the 1050 bearings ?? (I have a TA05-R that has the LW suspension and the steering blocks that use the 950 bearings and would like to switch them to the 416 ones).

Thx.

54083 - RC Short Reversible Suspension Set
http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/ite...oduct-id=54083

I'm guessing you'll also need shorter swing shafts (eg. 42mm as opposed to 46/48mm)
