I did have a Tamiya 415ms MRE and could not get it to work on carpet with rubber tires....?? So I sold it.

So, here's the deal... I bought it (for $200 less than the MRE), put it together as per the kit instructions, put on some older CS27 rubber tires and it was Awesome right out of the box!

The only changes I made was - 60wt oil, and "Blue Dot" Tamiya springs in front. And that was it!

Finished 2nd place first time out with it ...back only 4/10ths from the usual fast guy...!

Saaweeeeeet...!
Yes is lower price than 415 series

Yeah, second -KilleR-, email rc champ with part numbers you want, wait for the reply, then confirm and pay by paypal. Reply may take a day or two, but they have shipped stuff to me in Australia and it has always been delivered within 4 days of paying with paypal.

Hmm, belt drive spool on a shaft drive chassis. Now there's an interesting notion

It allows the front wheels to keep freewheeling when you are off the throttle, so you carry more speed through the corner than what you would with a fixed centre pulley.

It's more suited to fast sweeping tracks, but isnt as fierce as a front one way.

hth

would it be very effective with rubbers on carpet/asphalt?

It can work well yes, any track thats flowing it will help your speed through the corners off throttle.

For tighter, technical tracks use a spool
