I run a second TA05 for Tamiya races, have only used Tamiya hop ups, and now am facing waiting on an answer if my clear blue bulkheads (Part 49390) are legal as the Australian distributor hasn't brought them in yet. (Strangely they say the M03M chassis is legal in Mini class, but they haven't brought that in yet either?!?!)

those clear blue bits aren't suppose to be very good, more for 'shelf queen' cars.

I have run them on my hopped up TA05 and they seem ok, not really on load bearing parts anyway!

so what pinion can be used with a 70T spur to attain to these ratio?

Use A/A mounts front and rear. I have used a regular mount for the rear front (instead of a bridge mount) without problems.

23T were geared down to around 5.76-5.9 area.

70/27*2.25= 5.83; 70/28*2.25=5.63.
Lucky boy, you only need 2 pinions!

How big is the track? When I run a Type S Stock motor, I use a 22 pinion, when using a sports tuned, a 24 pinion

Best thing to do is pull the pinion off, if it is still tight, then it is the gear mesh between spur and pinion, there should be a small amount of backlash there.

I've already loosened the front belt so that the little dot on the bearing holder is right in the middle (thats two notches looser than the manual says to go) but it's still very tight....where could my problem be coming from?

I'm worried it may be that the pinion is meshing too tight with the spur gear but I'm not sure how tight it should be

help me please

make sure the markings line up or the belts will stay tight,
they have to be the same for each dot on the markings

If the belt is too tight, back it off another notch. The blue belt needs constant adjustment.

Really? I set mine 1 notch looser when they first came out 6 months ago and haven't touched them since. I haven't had a problem yet...

It states on the belt header card to adjust as necessary for humidity.

Meaning, if there is a temp change, you may need to adjust the belt, looser or tighter.
