How are you guys ruling on the D3.5 17.5 motor. Will it be allowed or not? I need to know what to buy for this race.

This news is to recent for us to make a decision. Keep watching the thread and we'll have a decision in the coming weeks.

If you buy a motor a few weeks prior to the race and don't have time to decide on a gearing I'm sure someone at 5280 will be able to help. If you're hear by Friday you'll also have plenty of track time to figure out a gearing.

From what I've experienced with the various motors I've used over the past few years, they all seem to gear in roughly the same range.

I already purchased the D3.5 17.5 motor for this. I hate to buy another one now. I suppose I could just run mod and forget all this . Is it nitro season yet?

Gus I'm with you as well, but would hope that the club does like Snowbirds is doing and letting them race.

For the MHIC, we will be running ROAR rules. This race is still 3 months away and we feel all participants will have ample time to ensure they are in compliance of those rules.

Looking like a lot of these motors will be for sale cheap soon. Do I dare pick another before the tech tools eliminate them as well. Maybe you guys can post up a legal list for us to choose from.

The theory/rumor/suggestion is that ROAR has re-checked all the other motors already with the new tools and only the D3.5 17.5 was found to be out of spec. So the rest of the ROAR list should be solid.
