What is the idel direction to go if I understand correctly the closer you get to 1.1 the speed you build and the more you move away from the less speed you have. Iam I correct? So for example if I have a spur gear of 88 and a pinion of 33 and tire at say 52 I should be at 2.67 and if I go up in pinion should bring me closer to 1.1 correct.just looking for some help to understand more about gearing thanks for any help

2.67 would be your final drive ratio. Your roll out would be 61.26. If you go up in the pinion size or down on the spur then you will increase your top speed which is increasing your roll out and lowering your fDR. If you go down on pinion and up on spur then that will give you greater acceleration which is lowering your roll out and increasing your FDR. You ultimately want to gear to motor temp. Something that gives you the best of both worlds between top end for the straights and low end punch for the infield.
