HPI and Hot Bodies are actually merging together. The owner of HPI has owned both for years.

They definitley are merging together because the Hotbodies Cyclone and the HPI pro 4 are the same except ones a belt and ones a shaft, if you look the cyclone has the whole front and rear end of the Pro 4 so I wouldnt believe at all that HPI is closing down

I'd guess there's a financial savings involved with merging the two companies.

well im not saying they are merging because of two cars but if you do think about it and look very closely at both cars the hotbodies has the whole entires front end and rear, arms and all, On the other hand everyone knows the owner owns both companies

I hope they merge so when the cyclone comes out you can use the same parts from the pro4. Also would there be a new name?

So most likely it would still be "HPI", so that would make the cyclone an HPI.. maybe?

i was of the understanding that Hot Bodies did most of the R & D for HPI for the pro 4 anyways? I remember seeing some of the early Pro4 pics with hotbodies stickers (might be a bad memory though)

I don't think it will really change too much though, both companies run purple cars, nothing beats Tamiya Blue! (or maybe red!)

Agreed purple is the way to go. Look at Hara. But back to subject, just think of how dominant Hpi will be with the merge with hotbodies.
