Anyone have experience with battery zappers and which one is good for virgin cells?

Guys, I have done a search on this board and can't get a true answer.
Anyone have experience with the Integy or Apex Zappers for Virgin Cells. I've heard that the big matchers spend crazy bucks on a zapper. Wouldn't the Integy or Apex Zappers do the same by zapping at 85volts.
I am not about to try and build one nor do I want to spend "thousands" of dollars that apparently the big names have done.
Unless they all just say that and use a $200.00 Integy Zapper

The concept is simple enough. Zap a cell with enough voltage to clear out the nasty crystals.
From what I've read, zappers for virgin cells are supposedly much different then your 140 dollar (at Horizon) zapper. Whether or not this is true, I don't know.
Your best bet is to search for other RC forums. If the thread you're looking for isn't here, I'm sure it's somewhere.

Voltage isn't the single thing to worry about. It's the amount of energy stored in the capacitor. The best zapper I've seen cost around $1000. I also did an experiment with an old Integy one and did lots of modifications and almost brought it up to the level of the $1000 machine. My cost was $400.
There are a few places that might give you some more help, but to be honest, good luck.
Out of the box stock zappers are ass for virgin cells. You have to go custom.

Just checked out Big Jim's board and he says the intial zapper costs about a $1000...and he sells them!

I bought a Turbomatcher several years ago from a company called Spyked Cells. They sold a lot of packs down in the Texas area, I guess they were around the size of Powerline or NEw Wave, not a huge company...
Anyway, When I bought the Turbomatcher, the guy threw in his zapper that he used to "spyke" his new cells before matching...
If you're who I think you are, you're welcome to borrow it and test or zap or whatever you like. It runs off AC wall current.

gc2005, his zapper is very solid. Is it worth $1000? I imagine if you plan on doing cells seriously.

Should have 50000uF capacitor, and voltage 90-110V
