A castle 1515/1Y is clearly under those measurements, so if i'm reading your question right you should have no problem with a motor selection.Chris.
Chris,

Just checked their website, looks good 60K rpm, o-yea!!!
Will one of those 1515/1Y run on 6s & 8s too?

All suggestions are appreciated, big time fellas, thanks again!!

Dude! That chassis looks really cool! I wonder how big of gears you'll be able to wedge in there? I'm digging that chassis.

Its a 6s motor but you can push 8s through it, just watch temps.I'm going to run 8s through my setup,John has run 8s with this motor also.Good quality lipos, with a generous c rating will help with temps.The1515/1Y is a efficient motor.

I'm going to drop a 2200kv in mine and do another run on 6s to see how it works. The 2650kv I'm running is a smaller can with less torq. I'm just not ready for 8s yet. I'm to scared! I also have a tekin t8 2050 and 1900 I've been thinking about throwing in, I'm curiouse what a Rx8 would do under these conditions as I have 3 of those in other vehicles.
Sensored setup might help me put the power down smoother.

With the factory single speed, gearing options are 47, 48, 50, 52.
Might need to adapt some smaller gears for top-speed, what do you guys think?

My guess is I'll start with 6s and if/when I can handle it make to move into "warp drive" on 8s.

I'll research batteries, thanks.

With a 3.07 diff ratio,a 21t-p 42t-s got me 80mph with a Mclaren body, 87mph with a Warrior and gopro hanging on the roof.

25t-p 34t-s= 109mph
34t-p 36t-s= 118mph

I ran a belt drive 4-tec i converted to electric and did 75mph, with out knowing all the belt and diff ratios.I turned a spindle on my lathe, so that i could put some common gears on.

I assume you want to calculate everything, so dig up your ratios and we can figure it out on a speed calculator.Chris

Ok, so I checked the rear pulleys, big is 32t and small on bulkhead shaft is 10t, doing the math gives me 3.20 ratio.

Haven't checked side or front pulleys because I have to tear it down first, but what ever ratio they add up to can be changed with side pulleys anyway if overdrive is built in there.

So it looks like we're basically working with a 3.20 ratio, not counting 100mm tall slicks. Makes sense to you guys?

I just ordered a 29t and a 34t 5mm bore pinions. Currently running 25/34, baby stepping my way up. With less kv I'm going to need more gear.
