The 10R5.1 can run 2s easily. Check the instruction manual on rc10.com. There is no 235mm conversion...no need...just run it at 200mm. There is no disadvantage even with the Sophia body. Just run the rear wing further back and run pink rear tires with magenta fronts.

in anticipation of a huge WGT10 event in the Uk Being held in the NEC Auto sport show. We have a 2 day event.80,000 visitors expected to show. Will be racing on huge track so the format is 10.5 boosted.
Plan to Use a Reedy sonic 10.5 Im looking for some guide lines on rollout and can timing.

I rolled out at 53mm (88/29... 52 cut)
LRP SS v2 profile 8 and a Novak Ballistic at 30*

We drive competition Pro10 for a while now over here and you are partiallly right. It all depends on the track. If you have a wide open 8th scale track, yes! 235mm is definately more stable and faster but on the tighter smaller tracks you can definately get along as good as or better with a 200mm car if a GTP body is mounted offcoarse...

At one of the last Pro-10 IFMAR Worlds Associated made a car that was at all of the minimum dimensions for a Pro-10 Car....sort of an 1/11th scale car. It was 200mm wide and it was faster everywhere than the the normal pro-10's. If I recall, it would have won were it not for some poor tire choices.

Joost, with 10.5t and 2s boosted I go partially with you. But Roy has a 200mm and goes fast at our track. With 10.5t I am not sure if big tracks means more benefit for the wide pans as I used a 200mm on Rucphen (big 1/8 track with flowing corners where speed is everything) and had no problems with the wide pans once my setup was good. I drove with a sophia cut high so I could use bigger tires and a backwing also cut bigger ........in fact the wing was huge . (body was overall almost twice as high has the wide pans )
I used my RC10L2 on Deventer which is tiny but with flowing corners and had very fast laptimes there. This year I was happy with pole position against Reinder with his 200mm crc as he is the man to beat on deventer (his home track). He has run thousands of laps there, I only come there once a year for one race. He still won but it was a close and great race.
Maybe it is track layout dependend and traction dependend, indifferent if it is a big or small track?...this ofcourse with a 2s 10.5t boosted setup. I didn't persue the 200mm as wide ass pans look a LOT sexier than a 200mm car and have more room to work with in the pod.
I have my doubts in full open modified but I did hear from Mathijs that several years ago a 200mm Corally MK1 F1 with a lola made it quite difficult for the wide pans in modified during a RC lemans race but maybe that was still with the brushed modified stuff not sure. I will ask him. I want to see what a 7 turn Delta wind or 3.5t-4.5t star wind does with a 200mm and if it still can handle the power and cornerforces as a wide pan does.
Everyone drives wide pans now. Maybe an indication that wide is easier in full balls to the wall modified with up to 6t delta motors?
Anyway... no biggy just different experiences

I hope this car and the new body from Protoform help boost interest in the class. We get a nice turn out every week at my local track, 12-16 WGT cars. I love how smooth they drive and that the spec tires have great grip and wear like iron.

I drove one at one of the last Pro-10 races in FL around 10 years ago. I borrowed it from a from an AE team driver. It had a narrow, light weight P35 body.
I hope this car and the new body from Protoform help boost interest in the class. We get a nice turn out every week at my local track, 12-16 WGT cars. I love how smooth they drive and that the spec tires have great grip and wear like iron.

New Protoform body??????????? Tell me more!!!!!. I did get 2 Protoform Mulsannes and 2 Corvettes before they were discontinued. May have to sacrafice one Mulsanne this summer. Did Associated or some one makea Lipo version updated chassis for the RC10R5.
