Axial Exo Terra Buggy overheating?

I recently changed the gear ratio of my exo from 12T Pinion and 52 Spur, to 16T pinion and 48 T spur. After running my engine was very hot, i could barely hold it on for 5 seconds. is this a problem? would putting on a fan help?

Engine- Castle 1410 series 3800 kv
Battery- 4200 mah 7.4 volt lipo

Wrong section... Why did you change gearing? And why not just a tooth or two at a time?

I wanted a little more speed, and the spur gear change wouldnt fit the pinon i had already installed

4t pinion and 4t on spur is a pretty big change... What was the temp like before? You could try the 52 spur and 16 pinion...

your right, it was. it was "warm" after a complete battery, now after 10 minutes its hot!
