Default Capricorn 190mm EP

Seems conventional apart from an interesting steering rack.

Yes, not much to comment... until Rcknight arrives, haha ;- )

It should be a good car, no doubt.

It's incredible how many manufacturers are launching electric TC's these days. That gives us:

TOP
Tamiya
Kyosho
VBC
Capricorn
Yokomo
Xray
HB
Serpent
Team magic
AE
Spec R
3 racing
Corally
Schumacher
Team titan
Awesomatix

That's 17 manufacturers with a high-end TC ! incredible, it's just the widest diversity any RC class has ever seen at any time, for sure. And I'm not even counting varitions within brands ( CEFX, RSD, Exotek... )

The Capricorn 190mm EP will feature the same high quality the Capricorn gas powered cars are known for.

The car will be available at the end of this month.
Street price: €495

I will post a full build report once I've received the car.

Couple more pictures:

Hey all: I agree the EP touring car class in blowing up these days with many companies offering new or redesigned cars to the market. Has the advent of brushless motors and lipo batteries re-energized this class or is it just a cycle we're in that over time the popularity of all classes come and go? Thanks

I was just wondering the same thing...

I am thinking since the touring car design has matured (meaning all look basically the same)...the R&D cost of getting a car to market is minimal or lessened. Manufacturers can stick too what's tried and true and focus on the small changes/features to set themselves apart. No one has to redesign the wheel anymore...

I think it's a mix of many things on one hand a cycle effect on the other hand a little problematic situation in the nitro scene and also electric is a bit cheaper these days for a self paying racer. I was driving 1/10 nitro and ''lost'' my regular mechanic who was driving 1/8 IC so we were each other mechanics at the races. What to do pay a person to go with me? I'm on a budget so that does't come in question. Then there are the noise regulations in Europe some tracks had to close. Nitro engines and their maintenance is expensive and with tire soucing a new factor came into play that also raised the costs and made the sport even unfriendlier for beginners... Now I'm happy I changed to electric sedan racing. I spend less money and can go to a race alone OK I miss the noise but one gets use to it

More cars on the market should economically lower the prices.

Default re: a lot of manufacturers joining tc

it's easier to produce small runs of aluminum and graphite.... Plastic cars such as the TC3 and XXXs back in the days needed to be produced in high volume to get their money back but was the way to go when you keep your design for years....
