Supposedly.

I like most of the design tweaks they've done. Not really convinced on the CG. Those changes will have almost no impact on the CG, it will move 1mm most likely less.

Every mm closer to the tormaq counts, that's way other brands use alu bol connectors and screws, they wear more but it is noticeable quicker, this is
for al cars the same issue or behave mass in your part of the globe different.

Does anybody know if that T4 servo mount bracket will fit on the T3 '12?

Thanks

I have to say this is the most interesting XRay release in a long time.

I doubt it as the chassis will have two screw holes for the alu inner section.

In order to generate traction there has to be weight transfer. If the CG was at tarmac level this would not occur and there would be little traction. At that point only increases in friction between the tire and surface (adhesion) and aerodynamic down force would increase traction.

A lower CG will reduce traction. However, more chassis flex and suspension settings that increase weight transfer and contact patch optimization (Roll Centers, Link Angles, Camber Curves, etc) will increase traction.

Overall I really like what they did with the T4. It's cool to see Xray be confident enough to take risks and do something different than what Tamiya and Yokomo are doing.

For the T3 '12 use this: http://www.teamxray.com/teamxray/pro...ount%20-%20Set

The only problem I can see with the new design is the upper part of the bumper mount.

On the old car it was up against the front bulkhead so in an impact it evened out the force.
The new mount is 5mm lower due to the new bumper etc so it no longer pushes up against the front bulkhead.

Might not seem a big deal, but I know of at least one person who has broken the front end of the chassis (Tamiya), because in a big front impact the lower bumper mount is bent up and back exposing the front edge of the chassis.

Presumably hence the thinner 2.2mm chassis

Yup, and the lower CG should allow more aggressive suspension settings (more camber gain, more weight transfer, more roll) for more traction and corner speed with less tipping.

I don't think Xray mentioned it but assuming there are no new suspension mounts they also just made the T4 narrower. This will also increase weight transfer and traction as well as allow for more tuning of width to balance the car on Asphalt and Carpet. All narrow on asphalt, wider rear for more rear stability on carpet....All of this is great stuff.

I'm with you on that one Skiddins, I will fit the old bumper, if the holes on motor mount from the T3 line up I'll fit that too, probably wont fit the servo mount either, IMO servo tape is elastic enough not to cause tweak but strong enough to hold the servo in place and by using tape I can get the servo 5mm closer to centre line.

Other than that I like it .

I think the only part of the suspension that is narrower are the pivot block mounts at the front of the rear wishbones, effectively it's the Hagberg mod, but only -0.75mm instead of the full 1mm.

Looking at it again, I might see If I can design some sort of spacer to lift the upper bumper mount so I can use the new bumper, and have it held in the correct position but still get the strength.

Can someone weigh the new and old bumpers whenever they a chance, cheers
