Is there a blank setup sheet for the rsd chassis?

Does anyone know if the plastic spool is available without the out drives? X Ray wants $40 for the whole thing and I only need the plastic pulley.....

Does anyone have a VTA setup for running a T4'13 with the RSD conversion?

Having never run this class, how does the handling compare with the same car setup for TC bodyshell and tyres, will it be loose, or lots of push, prone to grip rolling or sliding etc?

Thanks
Skiddins

If you are still needing just the pulley let me know, I have a few spare and could stand to have one less

I can't speak to the RSD conversion, but I have a bit of experience with TC->VTA. If you have a TC setup, and throw the VTA tires on, the first thing you have to do is note the increase in ride height from taller tires, lower it back to 5mm, then adjust downstops to compensate. The rear VTA tires are wider and more offset, which will make the rear suspension softer and make the car pushy and bound up in the corner, which can bring on traction roll in very high grip, but it's not usually an issue. But just with those changes, it'll be decent. Next steps are to reduce rear toe, and fiddle with shock angles and springs to free the car up. Honestly, though, VTA is slow enough that you can drive around most issues.

Oh, and I usually run only 1* camber on VTA tires vs 2* on TC tires.

EDIT: Camber is usually just to get the tires to wear more evenly. It might be worth playing with. Also, because VTA cars are heavier, you'll probably find yourself wanting stiffer springs.

Thanks Mike.
I am putting heavier oil in the front shocks and see if Gene will like it better.
Also I will put 2.7/2.5 springs instead of 2.5/2.3(if I can find 2.7).
It's mostly his consistency that is bottle necking his time but every little bit should help.
I am also putting in a fresh set of bearings for Gene.... Ceramic bearings.

Ed, I threw VTA tires and an HPI R34 Skyline body (same one I run normally in scale spec) on my T4'13 with a ballistic. Setup was the kit carpet setup with 1.5mm under inner camber links instead of 2mm, camber links in middle hole, 5mm ride height, can't remember droop (normally I run 5.5f/4.5r with TC tires, so it was probably like 7f/6r with VTA tires), 1* camber all around with a gauge, and eyeballed front toe to be just a hair out. Shockers were 4x1.1 with probably AE 35wt. And a 2.5m gear diff in front. Spec-R top deck with center post.

It came in at 1450 on the nose, and Garrett Smith TQ'd at the Hangar. He doesn't know better, and thought the car handled OK. It was definitely fast like that, but I thought it was a bit pushy and bound up. The fact that he didn't turn the TQ into a win tells me it wasn't quite fast enough. But I was busy helping other people with their cars, and trying a couple things with my T4'14 in stock, so I didn't mess with the setup.

The next time I race that car will be the NORA Enduro, and the things I'm going to try in morning practice are: 2.9f/2.7r springs, or maybe 2.7 all around, with fronts down a hole and rears up a hole, AE 37.5 wt all around probably, and I'm going to play with the rear toe a bit, starting by removing the shims on the rear holders, and then trying again with them added to the front holders. I want the car to be safe, but I want it to be a little less bound up so we don't have to push so hard to pull a lap time.

Under the tierods on both sides 7g each.

In the middle section along the centerline is where you can put a whole bunch.

You can also place some behind the battery.

Here's some shots of the ~140g I had to add to my T4 to make weight when I was running a pretty lightweight battery. I now run a bit heavier battery and have removed almost 40g. Corner weights with a 250g battery were about as perfect as I could hope for. +/- 3g or so left/right.
