Pro4, TC3, TC4 and Tamiya EVO4 drive shafts are now shipping. I also have a few stand off sets left which will be the last ones for a while.

I also have plans to start making other parts in the near future. These included the following

Tamiya M04 Short wheelbase chassis conversion kit
Tamiya 415 Kydex bumpers
Tamiya 415MSX carbon chassis brace

Stay tuned for more updates.

Hey Erik. your drive shafts are killer been running them for almost a year.

Finally had a mishap the other day it wasn't really a hard hit, but must have hit just right and snapped the carbon shaft. Its taken a lot harder hits than that, not sure how it happened.

I'll need to get another one or two from you soon.

Mike,
I am glad they have worked so well for you. Not sure what could have happend, but a years worth of running on a lightened part like that is pretty good. You are still running the TC3 I take it? The lack of an upper brace on the TC3 definately puts the shafts at a greater risk on that car than in the newer TC4 FT and HPI pro 4 models. ANnyway, give me a call sometime if you need any additional parts (I still have 1-2 TC3 shafts in stock).

Thanks again
Erik

Default WOW!!!

I had purchased a TC4 from a friend that had the Wippler products on them and like an idiot I sold the car (someone got a killer TC4).

When I got my new TC4 the carbon fiber shaft was a must...it was VERY light and looked sweet.

I PM'd Erik about a week ago to make me some Carbon fiber standoffs for my 12L4...thought that would look SWEET! I was completely right! The car looks amazing. Doubt they will improve performance on the 12L4 but it looks killer.

I'll post some pics here when I get them.

Would the carbon fiber shaft be wise on a TC3-O rally racer or should I stick to the aluminum one?

It really depends on the level of jumps and ruts you run on and if the TC3 was converted with an upper chassis stiffener to keep it from flexing fore aft. Ofr on road, the stock chassis level of flex is ok, but I would worry in offroad. I sold one or two TC3 shafts to people running the BJ4 conversion and I have yet to hear any damage reports. However, I beleive that car uses an upper chassis stiffener.

I bought one of the shafts for my bj4, and I am having no problems with it. Works great. Yes the buggy has a upper deck thought, but regardless it handles a novak velocity 6.5 powered by the orion lipo with ease.

erik

do you have 30mm tall standoffs for 3mm screws?
thinking of using it for the Pro4/Cyclone bumper brace supports?

At the moment the CF stand off sets are prepaid custom order only. It just took to long to make a set of four for what I thought was a fair price. I could make some 30mm long with a 3mm thread no problem. FOr that matter I can make them any length (10mm-50mm). They would run $10 each plus $3 shipping. PM or email (ewippler@hotmail.com) me if interested.

I have listed the few remaining drive shafts on ebay as a way to clean out for summer. The prices are the same as before, but you have the added security of shopping with ebay. Check it out. Thanks and have a fun summer of racing.
