At this point I plan to take preorders only on the HPI shafts. They are a little slow to sell in comparision to the TC3 and TC4 shafts (due to the shear volume of those cars sold). If you want to preorder, that is fine, but they take about 2 weeks right now to get the tips and then assemble the shafts. I can also do a retrofit on an existing shaft for less money and time ($23 and 2-3 days minus shipping time). Just send me an extra shaft you have and I will modify it with a carbon center. Let me know. Thanks

Erik

Glad you liked them. I will put you down for one set out of the first batch. I plan to make 3-4 sets for the first batch, so anyone interested, should put their name in fairly soon (preorders are also nice as I would bump up the first batch quantity). The first batch will be ready the middle of this week, with later batches not for a week or so. Thanks again for the support.

Erik

I run a carbon fiber one in my TC3. It is 4 onces compared to 9 onces for an aluminim one. It has plastic ends and is very durable.

I think you might be refering to the stock TC3 shafts that came with all the original cars and early TC3 FT cars. They are actually fiber glass and are slightly heavier than the carbon ones I sell. Nowhere near as stiff, though. The are pretty durable, assuming no wires or othe rparts are allowed to touch while spinning. I ran one in my car for many years before I made the first carbon fiber parts last year.

KarpetRacer93....

1/4 lb and 1/2 lb driveshafts? Where did your numbers come from?

Nobody makes driveshafts that heavy, stock or aftermarket.

The weights of all my parts are in grams - around 5.5 grams for a carbon shaft comparied to 10-14g for the stock drive shafts out there (TC4 and Yok SD are the heaviest).

As for a evo4 drive shaft, I have made them int eh past. The tips are hard to come by and so the only ones I have made to date were retrofits. I did order a stock shaft from Tamiya directly, so we will see if it arrives.

Still a few stand off sets left. I have decided due to family and job time constrants, that I will stop producing the stand offs once the current stock are sold. I still plan to keep making the drive shafts as demand permits.

Everything posted on 1/29/06 are still in stock, but check with me for quantities as I only have a few pieces left on several parts. Thanks
