O.K. everything going back to box stock and going from there. Are you using the sway bars?

I didn't mean that it breaks easy, for our races - it's very durable. The thing is that most of the tracks here are made from steel and when you touch the border on high speed you usually break arm or something. My daughter was running HB before and it was very hard to finish for her, now the breaks are rear.
So I'm very happy with all of my s1. Now I will try R1.

If you have a blinky stock - 4,6 to 5,0 final ratio is OK. So it's 32t with stock spur.
It depends on what spur and pinion you have. I've seen 34t 48p pinion on it, but it looks not good.

What tool do you use to tighten the layshaft. I can only tighten the M3 flat alen screw on that side but I have no Idea what to use on the other side to fully secure the layshaft.

Thanks Sir I really apreciate that. 1 more thing, when testing my s1 on a car stand, theres dragging on the front wheels when throttling and steering it to the left and right. Is this normal on a front spooled car? Do I need to replace the spool into a gear diff? (30usd) or will this hop up part solve the problem: (I dont know if this is for front or rear) Thanks!

The dragging depends not only on spool. Check the wheels and also the hexes on shafts. they are a little bit smaller then usual wheels and have additional movement.
The spool is not the best one, but you can recheck and fill it a little. Also you should check the tightening spacers, they are black and it's hard to see if they are all right.

that part seems to be for the front, I ordered one to try. will see.

I had teflon washers behind the metal pins in front of the bearings. I didn't like the slop.

It caused binding and drag. Bad move. I took them off and car rolls out great now.

The axles contributes greatly to the binding, or chattering, when turning. I got the double CVD's, CVA's, SSD's, SSK's, or whatever the hell the word of the day is for these things.

The video in the 2nd link shows the difference.

I would order those except for the fact that they don't say if they're 50mm or 52mm. They SAY they're for the XRay or R1. I have the S1.

Can you compare overall length to the stock ones?

The 3Racing SSK's work very well in the front of my R1 (w/spool installed). Definitely worth the money and the fit well in my car.

I too have the S1. The SSK's are 50mm, same as stock.
That's the Spec-R version. I don't know if the xray's are the same or not.
EDIT: Actually, looking close at that pic, that's to the end of the ball. Pin to pin, the SSK is 1mm longer
