Having bunched wires around the receiver could be a problem as well. I will post some pics if I think of it tomorrow

Another gearing question for my S1. After a rule change making 21.5 boosted obsolete, I've swapped it to blinky. I currently have the FDR at 3.5, but still need to go further. 3 or below even. I have a 48P 69T spur with 37T pinion in there now. Am I able to run a 66T spur and 42T pinion?

I ran my 21.5 blinky s1 with a 65t spur and a 45t pinion on the weekend (turnigy trackstar motor with max timing). Fits fine - I just had to set mesh without the pinion on due to not being able to get to the motor screws.

Re: S1

I broke one of the front "driveshafts"/dog bones on my S1.

What's a better/stronger replacement?

Same motor. Should I go straight to FDR 2.75 like you?!?!

Got a bit hot. Wind back the timing and have a good fan and you should be fine.

Cheers! I very much appreciate your reply as I wouldn't have bought gear to go that low.

if anyone is interested in a brand new, built with hop-ups S1, shoot me a PM.

I've come to the conclusion that I have WAAAYYY to many cars for the amount of actual racing I do anymore, and well, unfortunately this one needs to go.

S1 with the following:
aluminum steering rack
aluminum floating servo mount
aluminum suspension mounts
sway bars
all aluminum spacers (no plastic ones anywhere on the chassis)
red screws in the bottom of the chassis

like I said, not trying to sell it here - just merely offering it up. shoot me a PM or email and I can give you the rest

thanks
kaybo

Thanks.

I don't have my manual handy, but, isn't one set of driveshafts 50mm and the other 52mm? Do these come in both sizes?

Guys need some help here, I have two TC's a Spec R R1Pro and a T4 2014 but only need to keep one, the T4 has a higher resale and I have fewer spares for that but is there going to be a notable difference in performance / driving between the two? I run 13.5 Blinky.

There will be no noticeable difference in speed between the 2 cars in 13.5 blinky. The choice you need to make is which car can you get parts for more reliably? Which car has the lower running costs (broken parts replacement, regular service items, etc)

My choice would be the SpecR (and is) I run a R1 and have an S1 as well and enough parts to make another nearly 2 S1's.
