Manual is up for the S1. Impressed - I asked them about it, they replied and it was up soon after. Nice to see a company that replies to emails quickly.

Seems very similar to the R1, just different materials and missing the roll bars. Suspension seems to be pretty much the same, just missing the inserts, although at the rear you replace the whole lower mount to change the toe.

Preordered an S1 from Reflex Racing to check it out.
Looks like a great car for the money.

That s1 is a great bang for.the buck. Might even be worth trying out the chassis plate on the R1 to get more flex till another option is out there.

I wouldn't worry about the suspension blocks as I'm sure they are fixed at the R1 kit setting which is what on running at the moment and haven't felt the need to change it.

I've been contemplating the same thing! and for $118 it's HARD to pass up!

Thanks for asking them about the manual....I just gave it a quick look. I almost can't believe this is what passes for a "Sport" chassis today. Pretty awesome for 120 bucks. And I was impressed when I picked up a HB Cyclone S a few years back.

Hello all.
Got one of the S1s on preorder. Looks even better than I thought when they released the manual.
But I cannot find the size and pitch of the spur anywhere. As my LHS are only stocking toys these days I need to place an order for wheels body and not least, piniong. Would hate to have to wait yet another week after I get the kit. So any info about the spur would be highly appreciated!

You have to eyeball the instructions as the actual spur is missing the number lol.

Cool part if you can use a 100T 64p spur.

One piece pulley/spur assembly from RW Racing for the Photon.

I have run RW spurs and pinions for years. The are the toughest most concentric gears on earth.

I pulled the trigger on the S1 couple days ago . . .

for those interested:

Tamiya Sway bars did fit with a little modification.

you need the following:

SPR-R1A102 - 5mm Ball Studs
4670 - 3mm 05 set screw (associated, but any brand will do)
84208 - Tamiya sway bar set

you will also need some end caps to complete the sway bars, I used some shock eyelets I had that were spare.

You will need to bend the sway bars a little so they line up better, and you will need to cut off around 3/4" from the rear bar. Not really all that difficult, if anyone knows anything that is a closer match please post.

I will post some pic's later today.

Is there a list that shows the part differences between R1 and S1?

I am guessing:
Alum shock bodies
CF chassis
CF top deck
CF shock towers
????

Best option to be exact would be to go through the manuals and check the part numbers.

As far as I've worked the R1 has everything the S1 has plus these:

Aluminium bulkheads
Aluminium steering crank
Aluminium hexes
Aluminium shock bodies
Aluminium suspension mounts + replaceable plastic inserts
Aluminium turnbuckles + ball studs
CF shock towers
CF top deck
CF chassis
52mm front driveshafts
Front and rear roll bars
