The new pod seems a bit narrower than the previous ones. I will have to trim the tabs on the Speed Passion plugs but it will fit fine once this is done. I checked the weights front to back on the car with the normal inline configuration and what I had hoped to do. There wasn't much difference so I went ahead and put the ESC just forward of the motor and the battery ahead of it. This will allow me the option of running a full battery or the shorty pack.

i couldnt agree more. i have had great success thus far in the process. i have to admit i was a bit nervous about having only having a week and a half on the new car before vegas, but the nervousness was replaced with confidence after only a few laps. this car will be good.

I changed my mind, the XTi will be out Sunday for it's shake down runs. I'm hoping that it ends up being the same as the Xi when I put it on the track, as in no changes needed from my first guess.

The new XTi, ready for a few laps before heading to the IIC. Currently weighs 729 grams, guess I need to figure out where to put the extra gram, unlike the Xi in the background that needed 2.75 ounces to make weight.

Man, I hope that works. It might be the end of day 1 at the IIC before the track has enough grip that that car will turn with so much weight up front.

Just checked my Xti with a stock motor, no fan on the esc, bat in the suggested location.... weight bias 55:45

My older car is 56.5:43.5 .... not that much heavier on the nose.

Thanks for posting that, I informally weighed mine with the battery forward and battery aft and didn't see much difference between the two which is why I decided ESC in the back. If it is nose heavy I will switch to my shorty pack and put the needed weight in the aft end.

Weight bias as it sits currently is 52/48. I will try it at the track tonight and if it doesn't seem right will switch to the shorty pack and appropriate lead weights with a 55/45 weight bias, or however close I can get.
