I want to try the Altered Ego for the long side links but keep the in-line configuration of the Xti...one of the many projects I intend to get back to once I find a new job.

Having matched my laptimes at the local track in both configs think both can actually show great qualities

The inline has great aggressiveness which with a little harder setup can be tamed..

When I asked questions on this thread everyone just told me to invest in AlterEgo..

Heading back to inline after next weeks big race at my local track, shall see how it matches my current setup

My altered ego benefited from running the front end super soft, .45 springs, no brace, plastic rideheight washers. It was a bit more loose but I turned my steering throw down a few percent and I had never driven a car with more corner speed on club-race traction. It may be worth a try if a hard turn-in tends to make your car want to swap ends.

Coming back to 12th after a few years off chose the xti with ego converstion as i loved my gen xl,however after getting the kits brand new sealed,was not happy when you need long links,for the car that i thought should be in the conversion kit.
Get them of shop,then go to try to fit my ko 949,does not fit,you need to use servo tape to hold other servos in seems the sanwa hgr is the only one to get which is another 70.
If i knew it was going to be hassle like this,dont think i would of gone with the xti.
Seems to of gone backwards in design.

As for the servo again yes not ideal but I think it's only a small cost in the whole scheme of things.
What class are you running it in?

What class are you running it in?
Be running 10.5 at our local club may see if i can do the shootout,then its mod at plymouth during winter series and do the nationals did gt12 last year did ok,but got the need for speed

I would try the in line first it does need a bit of taming at first but it is good.

Just thought I'd share a set up I used last weekend at my home track NORCAR at the Gate. It's 90 x 40 and high bite carpet. Fairly open layout.

Front:
Gray tires 1.58"
.50mm springs
1* camber
10* castor blocks (2 shims back)
50k lube on kingpins
.01" gap between stearing block and lower a-arm pivot under weight
3mm clearance

Rear:
Magenta tires 1.65"
15k lube in tubes (outside elevated with high roll center balls)
30wt in shock with windtunnel "V-hive" red spring
blue side springs (just touching)
1.5mm droop
3.5mm clearance

Other info:
Team Scream 17.5 (Kill shot based)
Power Push white lightening battery
SXT traction
TQ wire

Yep

At the US Indoorchamps I ran black fronts.

I tried them on this layout and they were smooth, but the gray's gave a bit more corner speed. The turns were tuff to carry corner speed. We had 30 or 40' shoots into hard 180's. At times I'd even use breaks.

I typically run oranges, but this track had alot of bite and the turns were hard to get a car to rotate around quickly. I tried whites, but the car started to square off a bit.
