CRC's website shows the kit for upgrading a previous version car to an Xti. Looks like it's $124.99.
I know I should just keep my Gen Xi's but I soooo want to get the new car ...
"This kit upgrades ANY Gen-X style 12th scale car with a brushless offset diff hub (p/n 4227). It is not only for the Xi. *Confirm that you have diff hub #4227, and not #4224 before ordering.* This kit will work on ANY CRC car using the 4227 diff hub."

Looks like I should have my car sometime this week. Couple questions...
I'll be running 17.5 blinky at our local track. Small, fairly tight track. 9.5 sec lap times with Sedans.
Anything in particular I should have on hand for spares?
Where should I start with gearing?
The track is still pretty green, where should I start with tires (compound)?
Thanks for the info guys!
Seth

For 17.5 , depending on motor, start anywhere between 90 and 100 mm roll out.
Tires....try magenta front/pink rear or black front/yellow rear
Hope that helps :-D

Finally got a chance to run my car today. All I can say is WOW! This was my first experience with 1/12, so I was expecting the learning curve to be pretty steep.
My first run was on a dusty track with pink/magenta tires and the kit setup. The car seemed really squirrelly, so I pulled it off without really pushing hard. I changed to grey-low/black and went back out. Magically the car was on rails. After a couple of laps I really started to push and the car just got better. I was instantly on pace out of the box. I walked off the driver stand with a Joker size grin.
Well done CRC. You have just made a 1/12 convert for life. I can't wait for the next outing with this car!

I noticed that the CRC team guys typically either run a lot of pod droop (~4mm) on their Stock/Superstock cars.... or very little (ie: the IIC setup Smyka just posted).
For a typical high-bite big race(IIC, Birds, etc), how much droop do most of the team guys prefer? Is it a driving style thing? ie: running full wood all the time works well with a lot of droop, and a smoother driving style works better with less droop? And what sort of setup changes go along with a big droop setup?
