Default KO Propo Mars R

Hi. I got my Mars R yesterday, and I have a few questions that need answering because of the strange update sheet for the "R" (major use of Engrish.) It's fairly new, I don't think anyone will be able to answer these.

Does my 27mhz Mars R require the special KR-301 receiver or can it use any 27mhz receiver?

Can the R use the original Mars' 75mhz module?

TY

hehe, I think i could help...I got one too.

I think you need the KR301F receiver to achieve the Hi speed response from the radio...but if you dont mind the hi speed response system, you could use your 297z receiver.
PPL also told me there is not that much different for the R from the Mars EX-1

I'm not sure about the 75mhz module.

They are talking about the different version of the module from previous EX-1. I think you need to have the module from Mars R and receiver of 301 in order to work properly. Or else, you have to change it back to the 297 receiver or LRP Phaser receiver.

What's the difference between the Mars R and the EX-1 Mars other than the higher response speed? Are they pretty much the same radio apart from this upgrade?

The Mars R is more like the EX-1 2000R radio only it has the Hi Speed Response, is not Limited Edition and has not got the drop down wheel.
But it still retains the 22 models memory from it's LE brother.

For those who owned previous Mars and Mars R, can you really feel the "hi-speed" response?

I saw and tried my self both radios at the recent Shizuoka hobby show. They installed both of them using the same servo next to each other. I could clearly notice the difference between the two.
This KO type R radio along with the M8 S (only for japanese market) are one step a head of any other brand on the market today. The Futaba 3PK has a bold new look, but does not have the 'response speed' as fast as the KO or M8 S.

The Extension Wheel (drop down ??) for Mars and Mars type R is not the same (have diferent part numbers)

I emailed them here is their replies if you need to know:

Thank you very much for your inquiry.
If you would like to have 75MHz, you have to have a 75mhz module,
receiver,
and a set of crystal. We do not have 75module, and receiver yet, but
we
will have soon.
Because, we just released marsR 27MHz a couples of weeks ago, and 75mhz
will
be here in a few weeks. 75Mhz delays due to FCC approval.
We will have them regular stock here on the end of August.

Best Regards,

--------------

Regarding a new receiver 301, curent EX-1 Mars radio cannot use it.
However, new Mars R radio is able to use old 297F receiver.
Module for Mars, and marsR is the same. The color of the case is a
little
bit different. You cannot tell the different.

You can only use the new 301 reciever with the Mars R due to the High response system. This is what I was told by Robert at KO.

Default Importer info

Only in German but this info does state that the R will ONLY work with the new receiver and no onger with the "old" one!
