I would say it would be unwise to charge NiMH with the old software. Tekin can update the software to h31 if you send it in.

they can do it, but I don't want to spend the $60 if I can do it with the current software, if the price for upgrading it was around $10 I would definately do it, but since I'm in Australia, it works out to be about A$80, for that price I am unwilling to part with my charger for up to three months to get it upgraded

I used to use mine to charge my NIMH batts. It worked fine just had to watch the temp of the batt.

Its jason. You can use your new charger to charge Nimh if it has H27 software and above. It has a 0.04miliviolt peak detect but you must use the "P" profile. Do no use P1 or the CS profile.
Be carefull not to connect the battery up with reverse polarity as the charger will continue to charge and damage your packs.
