I'm in two minds whether or not to buy a GT-e kit build that and gut the rtr to convert a nitro s811 2.0 to electric for a basher.

Well I don't want to spend another $$ on new 0 degrees knuckle on this money pit & find out steering still pushes not for my driving style in comparing to my Inferno GT2VE.
So I decided to give up in letting it go into the market minus ESC & Motor.

I caved and got a kit, now not sure on motors, I have an Orion VST2 1/8 2200kv and ESC's I have an LRP IX8 and a Hobbywing Xerun 150 and I need to kit out the GT-e and the 811 2.0e so will need another motor of some description. Do I slap the 2200 in the buggy and find a higher kv motor for the GT or put the 2200 in the GT and find a 1900ish for the Buggy? What ESC would be best suited to what car?

The track I race on is here

I run a rx8 2650 combo it's very smooth and fast. If you run on a small tight track I would stick with 2000-2200 kv my 2650 is over kill on my track and I have to gear low to get into the meat of the power band.

Stock spur and 15t pinion I was running a 17t but my track was to small and made it slow on the infield

That sounds like it'd be on the money for me, our track is quite large 60m Front Straight and 40m back straight, 250m length total, 13.5 Blinky TC is lapping around the 18/19 second area

Try your 2200 first and see how it does? Sounds like it might be about right?

Most the guys at our track run the Tekin 2650 buggy motors with 20t pinion. We require fans and body cut outs to keep the motor around 175 though.

Tried mounting the Orion motor last night and the front endbell has a pair of button head screws that are slightly elevated from the can and these hit the motor mount, so wondering am I best to shave these down or add 1mm or 2mm shims behind the motor mount screws to push the motor back a tad? Also have to dremel a bit off the side guard as the can hits this when you push it in (big can!)

Check you clearance on the steering post adding shims may cause it to contact that. These chassis are a tight fit I measured three different motors before I found out the tekin would fit.

Not even at that stage yet! I had a spare mount so been working on that outside the car the length of the motor isn't too much greater than the RTR Dragon motor.

Does anyone know if and when the rtr body will be available as a part? I like the body and am hoping it will come precut and partial paint like some of the 1/10 stuff.
