Just started building tonight and started wondering about gearing? Planning on 6 cell 1700kv. Wondering if I'm going to be ok sticking with the 46 tooth spur gear and a 17-20 pinion or am I going to need a bigger spur?

Bookmark this page. It will help with your set up. Use 3.7-8 volt/cell and shoot for 55-60mph.

Does anyone else have these shock mounting pins sticking out of their cars rear arms? All four were the same length but the front ones don't stick out? The set screws seemed to hit them in the right spot?

That's normal, because they are meant to also mount "mud guards" on the Cobra Buggy.

Thanks everything else has been fitting so well it seemed odd this stuck out the way they do. Is there an option part I can get to make them flush or do I need to cut them myself?

I may but I just look at it and it feels wrong. I don't have any meaningful reason to change it other then looks.

Most if not all go with premounts.

All are slicks except GRP

Sweep has more options this year so can't say for sure there.

Alpha softs and mediums all premounted

I would say soft or medium inserts if you have that have that option.

It depends greatly on track temp which can be 70-155f degrees.

Some use traction drugs. I usually do not unless temp is cold.

I just posted our tentative schedule with info: #129post

Use to get Alphas several places. Something changed. Now can only find here: http://www.serpentamerica.com/shop/home.php?cat=114

Hey, they are at Bruckner Hobbies also now. Gotta browse around there because stuff can be a bit hard to find. http://www.brucknerhobbies.com/

Haven't seen much activity here in a while and was wondering what setups folks have been trying?

I ran mine with the stock set up last weekend was pretty happy but sometimes the rear wheel was coming up in the tighter turns. This week I put a set of white springs in the front and eliminated that problem now it feels like my back end is wanting to come around on me but it was also pointed out to me that my droop setting had changed a bit, maybe i hit one wall to many? May try some red (softer) springs in the rear next time?
