If its anything like their past updates and releases it will be availsbke the 42'nd of Junevember. Which is unfortunate becsause I used to really like their cars. It just seems they cant keep up right now. Hopefully this is just temporary. It would be a terrible thing to lose the Hot Bodies brand as a major player.

See thats some BS im not going to spend 500.00 on a kit then turn around and spend another 200 or so to update the car. FTW thats stright a rip off...it would be nice to come out with a complete and updated kit!

The new kits will be the updated kit, you'll only need to bit the update for existing cars.

+1 Seems like HB has become a "me too" player at best. They haven't come up with anything new and seems to always be playing catchup to Tamiya, Yokomo and Xray and now it seems even Durango. Although the same can probably be said of Associated.

I agree they need to do something innovative again, but in defense of HB.....they did come out with the tcxx late 2012. Now in 2014 you look around and see that every companies newest car is now nearly identical to what HB had years ago.

Look at the xray T4 '14 and the TC6.2, they are strikingly similar to the HB

I'm afraid it was the other way around... before I got back into TC, I only had the original HPI RS4 Pro - which was pretty darn innovative back then. When I researched which car to get new about 4 years ago or so, I noticed that HB was the one that seemed to be following everyone else... Tamiya, Yokomo, Xray, etc. and came up with the TCX which was an evolution from the Cyclone. RS4 Pro4, etc... All the TC's now are the same dual belt design. As for innovation, for instance, Xray seemed to have been the first to have the "floating servo" mount, the single suspension arm carriers, the ballcups that have the hole on top so you can unscrew the ballstud without stretching the plastic (hereby contributing to slop), motor mounts, etc...

I guess my ultimate wonder is, who was the first manufacturer to come up with the dual belt design that is being copied now? The only real innovator as of late is Awesomatix.

If they wanted t be "innovative" now I think they would do well by. revisting the pro-4. It shares parts with the tcxx so some of the molds should work. New diffs/gear ratio, alum bulkheads, lower shocks and shock towers, and a lipo chassis. Similar to the exotek. Adding in pin holders like xray and ae wouldnt hurt either. Them and assoscaited already have proven shaft drive chassis to work from. But lets watch someone like losi come out of left field with something new.

Even with this update, I fear Hot Bodies will unfortunately slowly fade away. There is jothing really wrong with the current car, but parts supply problems, big names jumping ship, and 2 years just for an update. Thats bad JuJu and doesn't give confidence in th company.

A TCXX Shaft Spec might generate some interest.
