Thanks guys!

I am running the new motor mount. It's the only part I updated on the VTA car.

I am happy to help whenever I can, I'll try to answer any questions you have

ok. So what is the purpose of the V2 knuckles and how many shims should be used on the steering rack? Also, What is the purpose of using the older -2 steering arms on the TCXX chassis?

thanks

The V2 knuckles change the Ackerman to a more "updated" angle, in fact you can use the BD7 knuckles as a direct replacement in a pinch.

I run 1mm shims on the rack most times that way I can add or remove for feel.

Same with the older rack, it just allows for more of an Ackerman adjustment, but I can't comment on that because I onlybuse the TCXX rack. I know JJ uses it sometimes.

I liked the TCX motor mount (moves the motor more inboard) in my TCXX based VTA car so much (despite it being a real PITA to change the gears), I'm trying one in my TCXX based USGT car this weekend. Weather permitting I'll report back Sunday after two days of racing at two different tracks.

Chris What is the part number of the motor mount you are using in your VTA car? How is it different than the TCX and TCXX mounts?

The newest mount raises the motor 2mm, brings the motor in like tcx mount, and extra screw mounting for motor which is easier to set gear mesh.

Part number for that please? or is that what they call the heavy duty motor plate/mount?

Thanks Chris. Does this get the motor even closer to the center line than the TCX motor mount? Doesn't look like it fixes the gear change problem with VTA and USGT sized spurs and pinions, still going to be a PITA. Only good thing at least for me is I don't change those FDRs very often.

Same as the tcx mount except it raises the motor for more roll. If anything it makes the gear harder to change cause it's closer to the top deck.

Perhaps the next time I get something from RCMart I'll order one. Right now I'm trying to get the CG as low as possible and playing with roll centers for roll. Our tracks usually have long straights with a fast full throttle sweeper at about the 130 to 160 ft point. Usually I have too much roll.

I will be trying out how this mod works. It shows potential on the setup station.

looks good chris - I'm not sure how I feel about going backwards to this 'old' technology setup, but it looks good

It's about something more than that.... It's adding a new feature.

Rear steer, the car really rotates and carries corner speed. I literally shaved .5 seconds a lap. It was astonishing to say the least.

makes you wonder why the manufacturers went away from this kind of setup - or maybe schumacher had the right idea all those years ago

hmmm... guess I'm going to have to take some time and do it to mine I'm guessing 4* camber c-hubs? and L-hub on the R-rear?
