The tcx motor mount moves the motor about 2mm more inboard to the centre line of the chassis and I find it makes the car roll faster. I raise it up 0.5 as I find it changes the amount the car rolls ever so slightly. And yes 0.5mm under the topdeck at the bulkheads :-)

You're right. It was the older TCX decks that had the holes. Which worked great for calming the frontend. Sorry for the mix-up.

Which begs the question. What is the V2 topdeck?

Hi Guys,

regarding to the v2 top deck, I actually asked Arrowmax to help me make a stiffer top deck with less cut out. So that is why I refer it as v2. It just gives the car a faster response and it works well for high bite tracks. I agree with Stef, and personally I also use the TCX motor mount because I like the feeling of the car rolling faster side to side because the weight distribution is more towards the center of the car.

Hi moraccio,

Thanks for your input. I really appreciate that.
Yes, the new option parts are on the way and they will be available for sure. We also understand that we need to speed up the R&D and need to release updated parts consistently to keep the car on top of the scene.

We will keep working on that part.
Thanks for your support!

When new option parts will be definitely available ? (suspended servo mount, the new top deck, short shock absorbers and ultra lower tower...and so on) We are waiting a long time but apart from official drivers I do not think that others persons had the opportunity to use them.

My personal point of view is that HB-Hpi racing is not present in the market like others important rc brands like yokomo, xray etc. and this is very sad, because I know for sure that a lot of people really like the HB tcxx.....but.....if upgrade attitude is so slow and parts not available is normal that a lot of owners decide to sell the car and choose another brands...
It's not my turn to sell the car but I really can't wait for new parts, upgrades and so on.

Thank you again.
Ciao!

Masayuki Miura and HPI part ways

HB/HPI Racing team manager and manager of Japanese operations Masayuki Miura has made the shock announcement that he has decided to leave the company. Having worked at HPI for 11 years and been largely responsible for the company’s 2 world titles, with Andy Moore in 2006 and Atsushi Hara in 2008, his is the second high profile departure in the last 5 months following Atsushi Hara’s resignation back in August. Miura informs us that he has not yet decided what his next move will be but as soon as we find out we will let you know.

Miura had this to say:
Dear Friends,

I have decided to resign from HPI JAPAN on 10th March, 2014. I spent wonderful 11 years at HPI/HB since January 2003 and it was so fast !

I have joined HPI/HB in 2003 just after the winning of ISTC World Championship Race at South Africa with TRF, because I just wanted to win the Worlds again and I see the chance with this new team. It was great that I could go so many races all over the world with the team and met so many friends and especially it was great moment to won the IFMAR Worlds such as ISTC 2006 in Italy with Andy Moore and 1/8 Buggy 2008 in USA with Atsushi Hara. I would like to thank to Watanabe-san the chairman of HPI, staff at HPI/HB , team drivers and all the fans of HPI/HB for all of your support in past days.

I have not decided my way for the future yet and I am considering it now slowly but thank you for your warm and continuous support !

Best regards
Masayuki Miura

Some new updates to TCXX.

What is the difference between the V2 and TCX motor mount?

I think the difference is in the position of the motor, positioned higher.

Good point, I just realised the new chassis does not has "3D cut".
So the motor must be mounted slightly higher.
