The R5.1 and R5.2 use the same chassis plate. The original R5 did have a narrower front end.

The R5 brace is a little bit narrower but I don't think you'll be able to run a 2mm spacer on each side with it. I'll have to measure one verses the other.

If you are running 2 mm spacers between the caster block and bulkhead on the R5.2 you can run the R5 center brace. Fits perfectly. I highly suggest running one. I found the car felt broken/too much front grip with out the brace. This all depends on the grip and tire combinations. I highly suggest not running same tires front and rear without the front brace. If you do, reduce the the sauce time on the fronts.

McFactory Motorsports RC12R5.2 aluminum chassis and rear pod ready to head out to it's new home.

This is a newer version of what Kevin Hebert ran at the ROAR Carpet Nats back in March. In fact 1&2 in Mod 12th scale both ran McFactory aluminum chassis and they were 3 laps ahead of everyone else.

Cool Making Stuff Werk

I have been working on getting a couple of bodies mounted on the 12R5.2. Got myself a set of Protoform Crosshair magnetic mounts and the inside diameter is to large for the body posts from the kit

The fix? Make some sleeves from brass rod!

So... I also got the ABC Hobby body post cutter/trimmer tool from ApexRC. In order to trim the length of my body posts I needed to make some sleeves for the tool. I got a bit fancy and machined them with a short collar with grooves to make it easy to pull them out.
