For the entry level esc's, the Novak XRS seems to be a decent deal. Check it out at http://www.teamnovak.com

If it's for racing, ensure you get one with 6 volt BEC, because a 5 volt BEC will slow down your steering servo by 25%.

Which ESC? It depends on where in the world you're located... But if Towerhobbies is an option, I'll bet you'll have a hard time, finding one with more value for money

This one is actually a rebadged Novak (Cyclone, if I remember correct): http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXAXU1&P=ML

Is this the one? If so, it can "only" handle down to 15 turns motors.

That's a nice speedo, I had the Super Sport. Nice punch for stock motors. However, it only deliever 5 volt for the steering servo

Have you checked the Novak Dually? Good quality, two profiles, one for stock and one for mod, and a very good BEC with 6 volt for the servo. No motor limit 95$ at Novak, shold be possible to find it even cheaper

You could also take A look at GM racing's SX-6 (10 turns limit) or the SX-9 (8 turns limit).
They are very small, can handle fast motors and it's quite cheap.
