Everyone has to start somewhere - it's not like his purchase kept others from getting one.
Not necessarily must haves, but titanium screws, titanium tie rods, and ceramic bearings are good upgrades. Ask guys at your track what springs and tires.

Getting my kit soon - aside from the Yokomo springs for the 2016 shocks, what other brands will fit?

I normally us Ko digital servo's but see there is a direct mount servo for the BD7 has anyone used this and is it a good better option than a high end Ko
Many thanks

The servos are Sanwa SSR compatible, so if you have a Sanwa/Airtronics M4S or M12/12S, you can use the fastest SSR mode on the radio. Not many servos other than specific Sanwa/Airtronic are SSR compatible.
Ronald Volker also uses the servo.

I use the springs xray, because I had no other springs Yokomo. 2.8-2.5 front and 2.6 rear goes well.
The Sylver are too soft on carpet
