Thanks for the tips

my BD7 2014 rear diff is all stock, stock o-rings,stock shims, and diff cup rim a bit of sanding on 400grit and never leaks.
Has anyone tried a front center diff instead of the spool on the front?
reason why I ask is because I run VTA and with hpi threads they dont turn or grip well on corners, maybe with a front diff it might turn better.Any advice will be good.Thanks.
btw,the new bd7 drives well.First vta race qualified 2nd,got hacked twice on final, finished 3rd.

There are some set-up's using front gear diff filled with putty like this one from the last years ETS finale from Volker. The cars were pushing in corners so the putty diff gave a bit more steering. You also may try with 1M or 2.5M oil.

This is my experience too on carpet with putty diff! On some occasions when racing on asphalt i't was faster then the spool ... You just have to find out for yourself

Anyways, pay attention to the diff. They can be inconsistent and the cause of many problems (handling for example). I've built 3 diffs and each one was different. They are not smooth like Tamiya gear diffs. With the gear diff apart and the outdrives pinned in place with the washer and oring, make sure they spin smoothly with no binding. I switch the black kit orings for Kyosho red orings and they spin free'r. Anyways, enjoy the kit! I should have mine done for tomorrow's race. I'll be running my old setup from my Blue BD7 and compare the two.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried using the steel gears in the gear diff? thoughts of it?
