I built my shocks with the coated replacement shock shafts on the initial build. I am using the standard kit parts and running Yokomo 450 wright oil front and rear and HPI silver springs front snd rear.

I am running on asphelt tracks which are mainly low to medium grip with no graphite parts. I used the recommended asphelt setup with minor changes. I tried the yokomo pink/blue springs and did not like the feel of the car. I am using the 44.2 front block and 3.5 front rear. 1.3 resr front and 5.7 rear rear block. 1mm spacer on all hubs and nil on the bulk heads.

I am very happy with the car, running it in boosted 17.5.

Later,

Calvin

I have an overall balance problem. I didn't run the car yesterday. My chubs where at the post office and we had a big race locally. My photon ex was very good... And the driver was almost good enough.

Ditch the DCJ and run a regular CVD with gear diff up front...

I tried that with putty on my t3 and it wasn't as fast or as consistent as a spool.

I had very good 8 hour practice day to really experiment with setup and try all the tips from the BD7 thread.
I am very pleased with the outcome. BD7 was very easy to drive and composed. I'm officially sold on the BD7 and can now retire my ties with Tamiya…
Im very impressed with the durability, after 8 hours of test and tuning, no broken parts. Well driving TRF cars since 2006 anything is more durable than a Tamiya LOL.

Im currently running Tamiya Double joints with 46mm dogbones, reg plastic steering knuckles and C-hubs. Rear aluminum uprights with Carbon lightweight arms all around.
I really noticed a difference in increased corner speed and steering when I installed the rear aluminum uprights. The rear end would follow very nicely on hard.

Anyone interested in a Minty fresh BD7 one of my locals has one with a ton of spares. He has about 6 battery packs on it and decided to go another direction. PM me for details. He doesnt have access to get on here at the moment.

I'm just testing the market. I haven't sold anything yet. Just burnt out with on-road. I will have a real hard time selling the BD7 period as after all this there is some sort of sick emotional attachment to the stupid car.

I would like to trade my TCXX for a T4. I have a feeling that the BD7 is going to be the better/best car on asphalt.

Mainly I'm sick of traveling as far to play with toy cars when its only 35-45 minutes to play with off-road. But I'd like to keep my BD7, XI, and SCT.

So hint hint if you wondered in here by default and you are looking for
X12
TCXX
Losi 22

you know where to find me.

Hey guys ...parts way through my build and after taking the rear diff apart and filling it ....i find i can really feel the gears and its not as smooth as any other diff i built.....did anyone here find the need to sand down the back of the gears a touch maybe to give it a smoother feel or is that how this particular diff should feel.....thanks

Needs to be run in mate if new. Some use a drill/ Drexel to run in some spin up motor and hold a wheel. I just run it a meet then change oil after meet. Simple
