Yes there is a Yokomo importer importing drift products only, no on road or offroad racing gear.
A mate of mine was after a BD5 kit, contacted them was advised not in stock, would take over a month to get one in if available, and was near on double the price.

They were approached by a few importers at FEMCA but word is they never heard back from them.

its a shame that such a fantastic product like the Yokomo competition line of cars isnt supported in Aus

It's really difficult when ure in that situation. In addition the price you get for it is far more expensive. Well, hope the BD7 will be available for u guys down under.

Nobody would be able to sell in Australia the volumes needed to get the factory/manufacturer contract. And prices would be just as high as Tamiya TRF cars in Aus. How many TRF parts or kits has anyone ever seen on shelves in Australia? I haven't seen any parts ever and I can count on one hand how many kits. And shop prices here are similar to the RRP on the Tamiya US site.

A lot of other cars don't come here for the same reason. Not sure how Xray has managed to break in, but I guess on the back of solid local shops support and perhaps some solid support deals from the manufacturer/importer. They are falling back though and don't have everything you want at any time. Schumacher is supported as well by some shops, again not sure what the part situation is, but if you're in the wrong state, you're stuck. None of the other manufacturers has any serious foothold in Australia.

To top it off, HK shops are three days away form your door step with prices nobody can beat, everything you want, any spare for it and everybody's dog. Face it. We are too bloody far away from everywhere else, but at least we're very close to HK. That is our one chance and not a bad deal, I think.
