Hi guys,

Is it worth to upgrade BD7 rs to 2015 car? Is it even possible? I'm trying to make a decision on my first TC car - to go with RS version, or go from the very beggining with BD7 2015. Is it good car for a guy who's new to TC class?

Do you want to race, or just play ?

a TC car will be so expensive if you get all electronics and consumables/spare parts that the price diff between a rs and 2015 will not matter that much in the end

go for 2015 if you start with the RS and start "upgrading" you will spend even more

also i think a beginner car doesn't exit, the 2015 is a lot easier to drive than a cheaper TC

Yes, it is possible, and can be marginally cheaper if you pick and choose wisely and buy on the internet from SE Asia (and don't pay import tax).

However, if you have such questions, I am not sure you'd get the full benefit of a full blown racer.

The main benefit is that you could in theory buy only what you need, as you need it. You will need a front spool straight off the bat though.

The plastic spool that comes with the RS is made of glass. And not solid either. Think intricate blown glass that shatters if you look at it funny.

the difference between a 2015 (480 euro) and a RS (190 euro) will be gone in a few upgrades and you will still have an inferior car

42 euro for the spool
+ whatever of the other aluminium/ carbon parts you want
the 3 upgrade sets yokomo sells would set you back 221 euros
http://www.fast-webshop.com/tonispor...omo-BD7-ver-RS

even if you pick the bare essentials, you will save very little money over a real 2015, and you will be chasing setup problems all on your own because of your special mix car no-one else is racing

this is not clear if you start out racing, i made the same mistake, the 290 you save when you buy the car seems like a lot of money, but if you go race you will spent so much money on parts, consumables and electronics that after one year the difference will be very small and you just had a year with a cheap car for a lot of money

get the 2015, you can share setups with other racers and you won't be chasing setup problems with a cheaply made car.

if you ned to save money buy a used 2013 / 2014

I have tried the cheap route before and honestly the cheaper components just don't seem to hold setup changes well and you chase your setup all day, not to mention all the upgrades you are going to buy . . . .

Default Question about different gearing

Hi everybody,
I dont know if someone can help me.
My question is about what is the difference gearing a 13.5t boosted motor in a yokomo 2013 , with 105/41 64p ( this is the gearing I am using now , the motor temp is about 82š celsius , The track is about 200m , straight about 60m.
and the other gearing is : 90s spur / 40s or 50s pinion . What of these two are better and why?
Iam trying to reduce my laps time and reduces the motor temp.
The motor will run cooler, with the second way of gearing?
I will really appreciated your help.
Thank you!!
