Hi race fans.
Been seriously considering changing to a BD7 from my t4'14.
I run low grip outdoors and have really been struggling to find the sweet spot for the xray at my home track.
Really after peoples thoughts thst may have ran both.
Im currently running 13.5 boosted for what its worth.
Look forward to your input
Cheers
Mick

I have both cars and can offer the following.
The Yokomo car requires special attention during the build to be perfect. If you build per the instructions and use stock parts you will have a car that is less than perfect. In my case the suspension components were all bound up, upper deck was tweaked, and the diffs leaked. Be prepared to sand, shim, and purchase additional items to get it perfect.
The Xray car requires absolutely no modification and additional parts during the build. You simply follow the instructions and use the supplied parts. Everything goes well together and you’ll have a perfectly built car with excellent shocks, diff, and free suspension.
My BD7 and it’s components are geared for 17.5 blinky racing on an indoor high bite carpet track, so, i can’t comment on it’s performance in low grip asphalt. I prefer the feel of my Yokomo over the Xray and I think I can be faster with it eventually. I thinks both cars are great and can be setup to be fast under any condition. The Yokomo will test your skills as a builder, whereas, the Xray is pretty straight forward to build.

I have had both, t4 14 was a good car but I prefer the bd7 black I have now, way more steering and traction outdoors compared to the t4..

I run an Yokomo bd7 2014 black edition and can really recommend it i got my first car and got it built and everything was perfect if you just read the instruction manual you will get the best car you can get. The car is pretty easy to adjust and you have a car that drives good all the time. All the components on the car is also really good quality.

Hi all
First of all, I'm quite new on TC cars. I was into 1/10th off road back then and so this is fresh hobby for me actually
I got xray t4-14 but somehow I don't seem to connect with it especially slow corner entry
I am thinking of switching to other cars and serpent and yokomo are contenders on my list now
Could anyone who has ever owned those cars or one of them or got anything at all willing to share what are latest yokomo black edition car advantages and disadvantages compare to latest xray t4 and latest serpent?
All opinions and suggestion are greatly appreciated
Thank you

yokomo bd7 2014 on asphalt
I ran this car on asphalt and it was perfect. Builds tons of grip and carries corner speed well. The car likes 2.5 deg rear toe and 85 dual rate. Get hpi silver springs and your money. I have a great setup for mod and 17.5. The car has a great tuning window and the setup transfer to carpet with a couple adjustments

I've mode during mid seasson from serpent eryx to bd7 2014 and i am really happy. Car works lots better, more consistent, I've improved a lot my qualifing results. I drive in mid grip asphalt with tracks open and thight.
Ass donny says car gets dialed with only minor changes
The only thing that I miss from the serpent is the servo mount, Serpent's is really great despite removing some flex in the front
Cheers
