Hey guys, going a bit off topic here but was after some advice.

Managed to iron out the 'floating rear end' I was experiencing before, but having some slight oversteer on/off power coming out and going into some of the corners. After doing some reading and receiving some local advice, going gear diff in the front should take load off the front tires and bearings and also eliminate some rear rotation out of the corner.

After thinking about this, if running modified I can imagine the plastic 'C' clips around the shaft would wear quite easily, and removing them completely is not an option.

Would the 1-way HD out drives fit the front gear diff, as from pictures I can see that the shaft end would fit alot tighter in there compared to that of the stock out drives. If not, is there anything you guys do differently when running gear diff in the front?

Cheers,
Bill

When running a gear diff up front use these.
BD-501GS

Made for no blades, just like the spool.

I am wondering if anyone has had any success using them on lower grip tarmac tracks?
Just stick 30g of lead in the front and try it, rather than using the yokomo weights? Would be interesting in knowing your thoughts.

yes I will do, I can't use the yokomo ones on the right side anyway because of my battery guides(super light weight ones from guy on here). Me and a few others will be trying it this week, I will report back

Hi Bill k

I got rid of my floating back end by raising the inner ball, adding shims to give the rear end some pro squat, changed to an Ltcr body and stopped running sorex. Guess it all depends on your set up but maybe one of those helps.

I have run gear diffs since I got my two bd7's to get more turn in, surprised to hear it could settle the rear. I have only used the plastic inserts with the standard drive shafts and no issues.

Thanks SLOW, I'll make an order and purchase a couple of those.

Also Marc, I've found that by raising all 4 outer camber links it helped to settle the rear end using RIDE reds. I'll do some experimenting and change the rear only, just to see how the car reacts. Might be for the better

Thanks.

Hey Nepiman,

Ronald runs the same LTC-R as is available to everyone else (#1505-25 lightweight), usually mounted 2-3mm forward. I think the differences you're seeing are the custom headlights/grilles that his painter paints in instead of using the regular decals.

When using the high traction top deck on the 2014 do you leave the back screw out on the new car as it does not line up with the motor.
Just making sure?
Thanks

imo
You would be better off using a 2013 motor mount to do that

Even the 13 isn't normally happy without that back screw
But I guess it's worth a try first
