Anyone have experience with this?
The BD7 RS is based off of the 2012/2013 BD7, because of the new chassis and motor mount, i'm not sure how well the setups would translate to the different characteristics of the RS.

On the other hand, there are (at least so far) many more setups for the "old" BD7 around, than for the 2014. And these should work for the RS - it is basically the same car, just with plastic instead of most aluminium and CF parts. And the missing sway bars of course... maybe these setups won't work 1:1, but they should be able to give you some ideas / a starting point.

The setup up such as droop, ride height, camber, springs and shock build should follow the BD7 / BD7 14.

Bear in mind there are only 3 shock position holes on the shock tower of the RS, the middle ones are about right.

The RS chassis flexes way more than the standard BD7 due to the plastic components, which has a large affect on handling. It can be a bit inconsistent on carpet but more suited to lower grip asphalt.

I wonder how thick Roche, 3Racing, and CSO pins are?
To answer part of your question, the Roche DCJ Pins are 2.08mm - i just got mine to replace my spec-Rs V2 that were showing some wear on the pins themselves (all 17.5 racing)

I've seen a lot of pictures of Volkers car in which he removes one side of the sway bar and just keeps one side attached.

A buddy of mine who runs a bd7 has been trying to get me to try this on my Xray. Any idea what removing half the sway bar mounts could do?

it makes it totally useless like it wasnt there if you disconnect one side.

Well why even have them then? The article on redrc said that hes been playing with setups and messed with sway bars.

Yep, disconnecting one side of the roll bar renders it useless. For practice there's no need to remove the whole thing just to try it, just one drop link. If you don't like it, then it's much faster to replace 1 drop link than it is to replace the whole assembly.

You keep the sway bar on so that you don't change the weight of the car too much. Important if your close to the legal weight limit.

Simplest and quickest way to disable/enable without changing anything else, that's all.

Default Short shock conversion

What are the advantages to the short shock conversion?

They're mainly for high grip conditions where grip roll is a problem.
If you're not grip rolling, you probably don't really need to look at them.

Default Build tips

Just ordered a 2014 Black Edition, do you guys have any build tips? I know it's necessary to edge glue the chassis, but what about the shock towers, etc? I'll be running on semi-bumpy med traction asphalt.
