So..... How's the 2014 BD7's handling compared to the original BD7?

Is it possible to remove the underside motor screw and replace it with a set screw? Is it possible to run without the side support brace for the spur gear? The 2014 BD7 no londer requires it, can you do the same with the original BD7?

I haven’t run my 2014 yet so i cant comment on the handling

But i am not sure you would want to remove any of the 4 lower screws, i think it would make the flex uneven left to right,
I think the new motor mount might work without the top screw being a little more rigid.

I also probably wouldn’t try to run without one of the supports on the original. The tolerance on the pulley's are much better than the old ones and the shaft is a greater diameter and had a larger screw to hold it in.

I tried to install the original pulleys on the 2014 but there is just too much play in them.

I'm interested in getting a bd7 2014. What all will I need to get beside the kit? I have read that a lot of guys are running different shocks? What's wrong with the stock ones? I will be running on high bite carpet.

I wouldn't say you "need" anything really. Most people run the graphite arms pretty much everywhere, they come included with the black version but not the blue one.
It seems to be hit and miss wether or not you get the floating servo mount, but I'd class that as a "nice to have" rather than absolute essential.

There is a short shock conversion available now, it's aimed at curing grip roll (I read reducing grip) so not necessary if you don't normally suffer grip roll, or if you normally run in low grip conditions.

Pretty sure Blue 2014 includes Hard arms as well
as shown here

From Yokomo

"Lightweight graphite resin suspension arms and the change of the motor mount
to both the high level response and a sense of stability!

BD7-2014 to benefiting from home-European touring car, die a normal evolution of true. Japan, as well as to prove their ability in a race around the world, while rivals take each year lag, ticks away brilliant step to the next stage in one step ahead again.
Place in the center of the chassis motor mount, redesigned the shape of the steering bell crank, while improving the driving feel, 2014 has achieved a balance of grip and cornering speed. Also, I give a hard anodized lubrication of high quality in shock cylinder, greatly reduces the resistance of the internal shock, gap of road surface slightly to absorb flexibly, operability also significantly improved. It plays a better response with a lightweight graphite resin before and after suspension arms and hubs, as well to the knuckle. Also, in addition to the standard kit of blue anodized, black series with a brightness such as the black diamond a certain dignity as a special edition this time comes!!
BD7 ran also looks even reached into the realm of art at last!"
