Just buy the black diaphram for the shocks and buy the kyosho
O-ring for the rear diff.

No crazy options needed on this car

Hi Guys,

I read in one of the articles that Ronald's mechanic found something which gave him an advantage over the opposition at ETS recently. In fact, I think he dedicated the win to his mechanic.

Are you aware of what Ronald was referring to?

Will do. Work got me tied down at the moment. I definitely need to make a trip down there again. I got my @$$ handed to me last time I was there. My car needs a lot of work on carpet.

I honestly think the carpet needs to be replaced. It's way overdue.

There are clubs running on the same CRC rug much longer than the nearly 3 yrs at TQ
But it would be cool if Sean would steam clean it once in a while
Surprisingly, it's not an issue with Sedans
Foam tires however, well ...

How about those split blocks for the arm mounts?
Are the lower shock towers included or are they an option?
Amain is out of the DCJ's. Any other place in the US to get them?

Thx.

There are no lower shock towers available for the car. I believe most people are getting them custom cut.

I use the Tammy DCJ's.

I think he was referring to tyre prep. The article I read said that they only played around with tyre prep as the car felt good from the start.

I have the following in my pit box:

  • 43.5 split (std) Front
  • 41.3 split (optional) Rear
  • 42.0 split (std) Rear
For the optional parts I purchased, amongst other things:

  • YOKYS-8HD - Black Bladders
  • YOKYS-7HG - Double O-ring setup
  • YOKBD-S2W - Thin P3 O-ring for double o-ring setup
  • 6542 - HPI Blue Spring
  • 6543 - HPI Silver Springs
  • ORG05 - Kyosho O-rings for the gear diff.
  • YOKB7-203 - Floating Servo Mount
  • YOKBD-010FW - Double Cardon Joints
  • Full line of graphite suspension parts, except c-hubs.
I also have titanium turnbuckles and a few odds and ends that are nothing more then eye caddy added. However, the above is what I'd start with again if I had to repurchase this kit at a later time.

My theory:
Team Yokomo drivers occasionally use lower shock towers, when racing with the unusually tall, soft sidewall, spec RIDE tires

There may be other benefits ?
But on normal tires, the car has no traction roll, or grip issues with the current shock towers, which are btw, lower than the previous towers on the BD5

There are several of us in So-Coal running on high grip rug, we all run the BD7 nearly on kit settings

The BD7 is remarkable out of the box, as most current TC's are

The only TC's I've seen T-roll at our track are, HB, Awesomatix, and the new Mi5, and I'm quite sure there is a setup to fix those

I have never had my BD-7 running so good on an asphalt surface apart from now. This car is just beautiful to drive, and I'm able to hit every apex, and rotate the car fast enough to make those tricky corners.

I have myself an order coming in from overseas with DCJ's, springs, sway bars, shock oils/bladders and other hop-up options for this car, but I really don't want to altar the setup and ruin it's performance.

This car is the best decision I've ever made, and all I can really do is recommend this car. With the right setup, this car is driving on rails, and although it may take some figuring out to find it, it's worth it in the end!
