Default Using motor brushes to clean your comm

Now for something really different: Trust Tamiya to have a unique take on a common maintenance issue. It has announced laydown and standup brushes you can use to clean your comm. The link to its news is here:

I can't see this as practical unless you do not solder your brushes.

Neat idea...i guess they last until you get down to the shunt.

Instead of the ease of just using a comm stick, you install some different brushes and run the motor for a while? Tamiya logic at work.
