3 Racing Sakura D3 CS Drift
#136
Front is 38/13. Middle 13t to 13t. Rear 22t/30t
2.14?! Holy cow! I'm not used to that much CS either. I'm currently running 1.60 on my VDF and have tried friend's 1.80 and thought it was a pretty aggressive setup. Could you tell us diff and pulley sizes (# of teeth) on D3 cuz I might have to lower it a bit to fit my taste.
My d3 is currently at the post office waiting for me to pick up but I won't be able to pick it up til Friday b/c of work.

2 already need to change my front belt and i only have about 2hr of run time on this chassis
3 too much slop in the steering rack
4 the stock ball links ends have too much slop in them im going to changed them to rpms
5 center belt has too much slop in it im going to make a custom belt tensioner for it

I was talking with my LHS and they are trialing the D3. they are using a 5.5T brushless motor and 120A ESC with DR04 tyres, but he said that every time they back off the throttle it just wants to spin? anyone else experiencing issues with the drifting side of things? forgot they're using a 22T pinion and the stock 80T spur

Can I get someone to explain how to pick a pinion and spur gear for this application (64P and 48P)

@pickle Go to driftmission and play with the cs calculator in tool area.
FDR final drive ratio is your spur pinion combo. I stay around 6.5 to 7.5 fdr.
I like 64p because they are a little quieter thats all and I have an assortment of gears to combine.
So I put a 16T oneway pulley and swapped the original 38 with a 36T. Then I changed the rear 22T to a 20 and have 1.50cs now.
The car feels really good now. Going to put on some Raikou's now. Should be interesting

Where are you getting these parts from? I thought parts havent been released? Also by doing this hows your slack in the belts and did you make a tensioner?
#147
I have all these parts from 28 years of racing all sorts of cars. Pulleys and spurs and cogs are pretty much standard on belt driven cars. These are tamiya and street jam parts.
The belts are perfect with this combo. No tensioner needed. I tried a bunch of pulley and cog combos to get perfect belt tension at a reasonable cs ratio

Good to know, I havent been around long enough to know others match up. More then likely i will wait till the option parts are out before building mine so I can do it right the first time and use the stock gears for when I'm good enough to handle 2.14 CS.

So would I be right in asking if the Sakura Zero one way would fit?
