TC6.1 Terrible Shake when Turning
I am now finished building my tc6.1 but I have a serious problem. I have used the search feature and found a few others with the same problem, but I was unable to ever find where they found a resolution. So, with that being said I would be greatly appreciative if anyone can help me. I just want to say that this is the first RC car I have ever built myself, so please cut me a little slack. I have an RC10T that I have had since I was 14, but my Dad had it built and gave it to me assembled. Also, I will be tidying the wires this was just a temp setup for testing. So, the problem that I am having is that with no wheels or tires on the vehicle I can be under full power and I can turn 100% left or right perfectly. However, when I put wheels and tires on the car it runs smooth at full power as long as I keep the wheels straight. Once I start to turn the wheels I can only get about 40% before I start getting a binding noise. After about 60% the car starts to shake violently. This occurs when I turn left or right. I have also posted 3 video's that I hope may be helpful. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

That's spool chatter.
All cars that use a solid front 'diff' have this.
On Xray's you can remove it using ECS driveshafts but not everyone bothers.
It is normal.
Remember, your car isn't under load on a track etc.

It's because what we call CVD's in RC aren't really "constant velocity" joints, they're just rebuildable universal joints. If you're interested you can read all about the difference:

Basically, when you flex a universal joint, the input and output shafts no longer spin at a constant velocity relative to each other. The relative speed of the input and output oscillates, which generates the vibration you see when the wheels are turned (universal joints are flexed). A diff reduces the chatter by absorbing some of the vibration, but it can be nearly eliminated by replacing the stock universals (mis-named CVD's) with double-cardan joints (DCJ):

I am waiting to hear back from Reflex Racing. I am going to order a set ASAP. They say on their website that I will need "a Hex Hub adapter with a larger axle hub opening like the ones for the HB TCX, Yokomo BD-5 or 3Racing Sakura line of vehicles" and I would like to order that from them as well, if they sell it. Since I am new to all of this I don't know where to pick one of those up, or how to make sure I get the right one. If you know where I can get that as well, please let me know!! Thanks! The binding drives me nuts!!

I wouldn't even bother with it unless it just pisses you off. On the track, you won't even notice the difference. On the car stand, it can be very annoying, but once you put a load on the car, it is greatly reduced.
But If you're set on gettin some, www.tqrcracing.com has those wheel hex hub adapters for the Sakura that will work just fine.

I just built a tc6.1. Exact same problem with a spool. I switched to a front diff, vibration now totally eliminated!

It might be an idea to try and get a forum which just tries to answer tech questions like this
